How can I help you?

I would be happy to help you with questions about Live-in Care; why it works, how it works, funding, the benefits of this type of service and how it compares to other types of care provision.

I can also offer advice and coping strategies with regard to Dementia Care. I have worked with Dementia sufferers and have personal knowledge as my Nana suffered from the condition.

Having personally been a Carer for the over 65’s and worked with Stroke patients, Dementia sufferers and those coping with Epilepsy, I have a clear understanding of many age related conditions; I can try to help you understand the benefits of Live-in Care and how it can maximise quality of life.

I also have experience of working with Under 65s; I understand the importance of maintaining and exceeding expectations, of the physical disabilities and mental health conditions involved in Younger Persons Care.I can also offer advice on our Respite Care package; many people use our respite service again and again as it benefits the regular care giver and the customer.

Job satisfaction

Like my colleagues, I really enjoy making a difference to peoples’ lives. Supporting people who would otherwise live their life in an institution and allowing people to retain their dignity, promoting their independence is tremendously satisfying.

I was once determined to get a lady home from a Nursing Home where she was desperately unhappy. She was sad because she missed her dog terribly.  With the support of the right Live-in Carer, we were able to get her home and reunited with her beloved dog, and that she where she stayed!

Working for a company like Helping Hands is very rewarding; they invest in the key skills of their staff with ongoing training and always provide a supportive environment. They are forward thinking and constantly seeking ways to improve the lives of people in their care. It’s really a wonderful place to work.

A bit about me

In addition to working full time, I am also the main care giver for my mum. When I do have time, I love walking my White German Shepherd Dog, Daisy. I’m a proactive person; I like to think of myself as conscientious, thorough and reliable, with a good sense of humour! I like reading, music, writing, logic puzzles and quizzes – And don’t tell anyone but I’m also a closet Radio 4 fan.
