Caring for people with Dementia in their own homes

The realisation that somebody you love is no longer able to look after themselves without help can be difficult. It’s important for those with memory loss to be able to adjust with minimal disruption to their lives.

Our highly trained care team supports those with many forms of memory loss, so they’re able to look after themselves in the comfort of their own home.

We don’t simply offer a checklist of services. We build genuine relationships with our customers and their families and work hard to provide truly tailored care.

Many choose for us to visit in the morning or evening to help with getting up, getting ready for bed, and personal care. Some customers need help with medication, errands outside the house, or companionship.

No matter the level of care required, we ensure that the right support arrives at the right time.

Helping Hands’ Dementia Carers

We’re immensely proud of our carers. It’s their drive, commitment and selfless attitudes that have made our care service what it is today.

Our staff are handpicked for their empathy, their understanding of the condition and its effects, a caring approach, plenty of common sense and of course, trustworthiness.

Above all, they’re able to provide a regular, reliable source of support and companionship – a familiar face during a challenging time.

We train all our staff ourselves at our Centre for Excellence in Alcester, supported with in-house Dementia specialist courses. We even offer family training to share our knowledge and expertise with our customers’ loved ones.

We’ve also developed the Dementia tool kit, which contains visual aids proven to help engage and orientate those we care for.
