Focusing on dignity and well-being since 1989

When my mother Mary set up Helping Hands 22 years ago, her main driver for delivering care was to provide peace of mind to both our customers and their family and loved ones.  Since I took over the business five years ago, I firmly believe that our commitment to be the best is the reason that we continue to grow year on year.

Helping Hands works closely with the Care Quality Commission and the United Kingdom Home Care Association, of which we are a founder member, to ensure that our customers receive the best possible service from us, and we are pleased by the current drive towards transparency in the home care sector.

The findings of the recent Equality and Human Rights Commission report will be worrying to a lot of people but we welcome the report, as the focus of every home care provider should be to protect the dignity and human rights of those people who are being cared for.

I want to reassure everyone who we work with that the emotional and physical wellbeing of our customers is paramount to us, and always will be.

I never cease to be amazed at the empathy and dedication our carers genuinely feel towards the person they are caring for – as our aim is to deliver a level of care which matches what is expected from a family member or close friend. And because, as a business, we take dignity and emotional wellbeing so seriously, we are currently shaping our specialist training and knowledge in these areas with the appointment of a number of experts early in the New Year. I look forward to updating you on our progress.
