Recruitment and Training
One of the elements that sets Helping Hands apart from many other Care providers is the extensive training carers undergo in order to become qualified.
To create a first-rate carer, you need 2 vital ingredients: the right personality and the right training. Helping Hands goes to every measure to ensure both are in place before assigning new recruits, and regard training as a continuous process that evolves throughout a carer’s career.
We advise potential carers to always be willing to take on new information; allow yourself to keep learning and develop in your role as a care worker. Health care training constantly changes, so keep yourself up-to-date and professional in the care you provide. My favourite quote is, “Never assume or presume – always ask if you are unsure.”
We believe a good carer is a person who wants to make a difference in someone else’s life. Someone who is willing to develop their knowledge and skills, cares about others, and isn’t just interested in earning a living. Carers need to be calm, reliable, sensitive, willing, and able to provide assistance without taking control.
