Recruitment Process
At Helping Hands we take our recruitment process very seriously. To maintain our very high standards of service, we need the very best people. Our Carers are the face of Helping Hands Homecare; everyday they represent us in the homes of customers around the country. This is a special job, and it needs special people to do it. Make sure you know what’s involved before you contact us.
The right kind of people
It takes a certain type of person to make a great Carer. Compassionate, caring and patient are three important personality traits. You need to have empathy, integrity and resilience. You will have to be diligent, adaptable and reliable with a positive outlook and proactive attitude. Being chatty helps and being a good listener is a necessity.
If you can tick those boxes and are independent, fit and healthy and keen to learn, then you might be a Helping Hands kind of person. Read about the next steps in the recruitment process.
We urge you to read our phone interview hints and tips. We’re not trying to catch you out; to try and get the absolute best people for the job we want to bring the best out of you during the telephone interview. These hints and tips will give you a guide as to what we’re looking for. Our HR team will conduct the phone interviews; if you pass and are invited for the induction week training you’ll meet them face to face. We don’t want you to forget anything, so refer to our induction week checklist to make sure you bring along everything you’ll need.
