Ongoing support

As a Helping Hands Carer, you’ll never be ‘left to get on with it’; you won’t feel isolated, abandoned or on your own. As well as constant support from a Care Manager, Carers have access to a dedicated phone line that is manned 24/7/365 for help and assistance; if you’re new to caring you will shadow an experienced colleague for an initial period as well as being assigned a mentor for the first 3 months of your placement.

One of our trainers Jayne Vale can explain more about the ongoing support that is offered by Helping Hands.

As care needs change, our training evolves

As a care package progresses, a customer’s condition can change or deteriorate. That’s why, with your help, we continually reassess each package to ensure the Carer is fully equipped to deal with the changing situation.

Your Care Manager takes care of all aspects of the package, so you can focus on the caring. We want you to constantly improve and update your skills; so we have a large number of bespoke training packages covering the different conditions our Carers are asked to support.

This is the current list of additional training available for our Carers; it changes and grows based on our customers’ and our carers’ needs.
