Could You Care

The ability to care for another person takes a little something special; some people have it and some don’t. Do you have what it takes? The attributes we’re looking for in our Hourly Carers are very similar to those for Live-in Carers, so if you’ve looked at both roles you may notice some similarities.

The role

An Hourly Carer will visit a customer’s home at various times during the day. Hourly Care service provides personal care assistance for individuals who are not in need of full time Live-in Care, but do require some help around the house with chores, errands or personal care needs. Our Carers provide the continuity, reliability and support to enable our customers to continue to live in their own homes, enjoying their independence.

We have a variety of Hourly Care customers; they include the elderly; people with mental health problems or learning difficulties; physically impaired, and those with children and families.

Levels of care differ depending on the care package and plan, but our Carers often help with personal care issues like toileting, bathing and dressing, or simply ensuring medication is taken. Often the requirement is just to prepare healthy meals, do some housework and provide some companionship. For greater detail, take a look at the Hourly Care job description.

‘People people’

To be a successful Carer, you need to be a ‘people person’; someone who can show true passion and genuine enthusiasm for caring for another human being. Our job is to find the right kind of caring people and provide the necessary training, mentoring and support to turn them into great Carers.

If you’re not afraid of a challenge, don’t embarrass easily and feel you can truly make a difference in someone else’s life then you sound like a ‘people person’ and should read ourperson specification page.
