Job Specification
The primary role of a Helping Hands Hourly Carer is to ensure the highest possible standards of care are delivered to the customer during a number of home visits throughout the day. By enabling and supporting our customers, we can help them to maintain their independence as far as is possible.
Primary responsibilities
Our Carers take care of general everyday and personal tasks that allow the customer to maintain their independence and continue to live at home.
General services include, but aren’t limited to:
- General housework, as well as laundry and preparing meals.
- Errands like shopping, collecting pensions, benefits or prescriptions.
- Administrative help such as letter writing, making phone calls or filling out forms.
- Help getting out and about, taking trips, visiting friends or going on excursions.
- Offering companionship. Simple tasks like reading, chatting and listening.
- A Sitting service; providing brief relief for an existing care giver.
- Personal care services include, but aren’t limited to:
- Help getting up in the morning - toileting and bathing, washing and dressing.
- Help with going to bed in the evening.
- Help overseeing medication.
- Overnight stays where necessary.
Our Carers will never be asked to do anything that they are not confident to undertake. The responsibility of the Carer is centred on the safety and well-being of the customer. Any accidents or minor incidents must be reported and Carers must ensure that a safe working environment is maintained at all times, so as not to endanger yourself, your customer or others.
