Carers
We’re often asked ‘What makes a good caregiver?’ Unfortunately there’s no easy answer. There’s no single ‘type’ of person that we know will do the job well; we don’t have a formula that we can apply; it all comes down to people with the right ‘stuff’! 20 years experience has given us a good idea of who will ‘cut the mustard’ as a Helping Hands Carer but you never know until you meet them…
In general our Carers are bright, independent thinkers; some have experience but some don’t, but no matter if they’re new to caring or just new to us, they’re always keen to learn more. By definition a Carer has to be warm and compassionate, a good listener and often chatty; and being fit and healthy is a necessity to cope with the demands of the job.
The face of Helping Hands
We’re very proud of our Carers; after all they’re the people who make Helping Hands what it is today; they are the living, breathing face of the company that our customers and their families see every day of the year; we’d like you to meet 3 of them…
Watch our short film that tells you all about Helping Hands, being a Carer and our training and selection week.
