Homecare outperforms the care sector in CQC report
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has today (26th November) published its report, ‘The State of Health and Social Care in England 2011-12’. The report has found that the home care sector is demonstrating higher levels of compliance, compared to nursing and residential care sectors.
CQC found that 73% of all the services inspected were meeting all essential standards checked during inspection.
Domiciliary care achieved high levels of compliance and outperformed the residential and nursing home sector in some vital outcomes, including:
- Respecting and involving people who use services – 95% compliant
- Safeguarding – 90% compliant
- Staffing levels – 90% compliant
- Handling complaints – 92% compliant
