Will you be a Dignity Champion?
A Blog from Dr Rekha Elaswarapu
This year Dignity Action Day is being celebrated on 1st February 2013. I represent Helping Hands on the Dignity Council and we are asking members of public, health and social care providers to celebrate dignity action day.
This is an opportunity for everyone to promote the need to uphold people’s rights to dignity and make it memorable for people who are cared for.
The Dignity Action days are aimed at raising awareness about dignity, making someone feel special, encouraging everyone to play their part in promoting dignity for care users and staff and finally providing an opportunity to network and share ideas.
Every year many events are held up and down the country to celebrate this day including coffee mornings, activities day, pampering days etc.
Last year Helping Hands staff were encouraged to become Dignity Champions. Many staff signed up and this year we are encouraging you all to do so as well. If you are not one already please do so.
