CQC
At Helping Hands, we are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
CQC register, inspect and report all social care services in England. As the social care watchdog, their mandate is to raise standards and stamp out bad practice, making social care better for the people. There main tool is random inspection; make sure that any personal care provider you consider for your personal care needs has registered with them and can show you a recent inspection report.
Our most recent inspection was completed in 2010, the results of which gave us an overall rating of EXCELLENT - an award made to only 13% of local care providers. The inspection consisted of an unannounced visit to our offices plus contact with current customers and employees.
We received special recognition in the following areas:
- Recruitment and Selection
- Training and Development
- Risk Assessment and Care Planning
- Management of the service
This excellent or "3 star" rating is the highest recognition that the CQC awards. This new rating system will be published and effective from April 2008.
