Meet Ashley Moore Regional Clinical Lead, South East

About Me

I have worked in the healthcare sector for 12 years in various different roles. Healthcare runs deep in my family; having my mother and sister as nurses is a great inspiration to me. I have always wanted to further my career within the healthcare sector.

I keep up to date with current research as I see this as an important aspect of providing the most appropriate and effective holistic care to our customers as well as continuing my professional development. I have a BSc (Honours) degree in Adult Nursing and I am due to start my MSc in Healthcare Management this September.

Career Pathway

Prior to being employed by Helping Hands, I worked for a private healthcare provider as a Lead Nurse for the Surrey/Sussex region. Throughout my time working in the private sector I have taken responsibility for caseloads of highly clinical packages, providing support to local community care branches and service users in surrounding regions. I believe in showing a solution-focused approach to crisis management. I have also helped to promote and advocate for complex care services to prospective customers and healthcare professionals.

Previous to this I worked as a transplant practitioner for the transplant team at Royal Papworth Hospital which is currently the most successful Cardio-thoracic transplanting centre in the country. I was able to take part in the transplant team’s development programme and this allowed me to become competent in various aspects of the transplantation pathway, such as: organ retrieval, inpatient care, and outpatient care of individuals pre/post transplantation.

During this time I also worked on the critical care unit delivering post-operative rehabilitation and protocolised care to the most critically ill patients throughout the weaning process through long-term critical care or appropriate end of life care. During this time I was able to develop skills such as, Performing arterial blood gas samples, Tracheostomy Management, and Non-Invasive/Invasive ventilation management, among others.

Why I chose Helping Hands

I chose to work with Helping Hands as I am motivated by providing the highest levels of homecare and service to our customers. I believe that the ethos of personalised care we provide allows me to do that, keeping the customer at the heart of the care we provide.
