In tune with the Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee  Helping Hands customers, Tim and Marjorie Hall have just celebrated their Diamond wedding anniversary! The Cheshire couple  have been receiving live-in care from Helping Hands since September after Tim had his first stroke, allowing  Tim to receive the support he needs and for them to remain together at home in the house they brought together  in 1958.

Tim and Marjorie Hall first met at school parties, Tim attended Manchester Grammar and Marjorie Manchester High School, it soon became apparent that Marjorie had caught Tim’s eye as he would cycle over to Marjorie’s house  every Saturday with his saddle bags packed full of straw for Marjorie’s mothers strawberry plants, and of course he would stay for tea!

The couple continued to spend time together, while Marjorie attended college and became a teacher and Tim a solicitor. Once Tim had qualified  he asked Marjorie to marry him, she did of course say yes! After 60 years of marriage the couple have 3 children, 8 grandchildren and a great grand child arriving in September.

Tim and Marjorie have a great rapport  with their live in carers Anna and Letty, according to the couple, “What sets Helping Hands apart is the consistency of having the same carers.”  Letty and Anna are now firmly part of the family. Marjorie and Tim enjoy popping into town with the carers, going for a coffee and doing a spot of shopping. But that is not all the carers are able to do, Letty spends time with Marjorie each morning helping with exercises for her shoulder.

Their son Richard also sees the benefits,

“We are so pleased that live-in care has enabled my mother and father to remain together in their own home, the level of care and support they receive from the carers is second to none, we really do consider them part of the family.”

Happy Anniversary Tim and Marjorie  – 60 years strong!
