Whilst studying for school and university qualifications, sons Tim, Ben and James Lee helped out regularly by visiting customers, answering telephone enquiries and assisting the payroll for the growing team of dedicated Carers. Their commitment to Helping Hands and all of the customers it supports remains extremely high today, as they work hard to continue Mary’s mission following her well earned retirement in 2007.

Tim Lee, Chief Executive Officer, says, “Over twenty-five years, I have seen Helping Hands grow from strength to strength. I am extremely proud of Helping Hands’ care services, which give people the opportunity to remain in the comfort of their own homes with high quality support that exactly meets their needs.”

Attracting great media attention in recent months, the state of care in the UK is a prevalent and a deeply important issue affecting families right across the country. Recent documentaries, including BBC Two’s ‘Protecting our Parents’ and BBC One’s Panorama, have really emphasised the need for quality and closely managed care in the UK.

Responding to the bad press the care industry has received, Tim comments, “It is important that people looking to receive care are made aware of all of the options available to them. Now, more than ever, it is crucial to increase awareness of care options such as hourly visiting care and full-time Live-in Care in people’s own homes. Local communities need to know that they do have access to high quality care providers like us at Helping Hands and that they do not need to be forced into residential care.”

A leading alternative to care homes, Helping Hands’ services are designed to give ultimate control, choice and confidence to every single customer. The Helping Hands Team understand that continuity of high quality care is extremely important, taking great pride in its closely managed and monitored services.

As the demand for Helping Hands’ quality home care services has grown over the years, so has its team of Carers and office staff. Helping Hands regularly recruits, trains and employs many locally based Carers and office staff in the county.

With offices now based across the country, Helping Hands’ customers are supported by local teams of Hourly Visiting Carers, Live-in Carers, Care Managers, specialists and healthcare professionals who are all united by their tremendous passion for quality care. Every day, Helping Hands’ offices buzz with enthusiasm as teams work together to make independent living possible for the old and the young.

25 years down the line, Helping Hands is still very much run with family values at its heart. For Tim, Ben, Carers, office staff and many long-standing customers in the local community who have been with the company since its earlier years, 9th May 2014 was a truly special day that marked 25 years of outstanding care.
