Visiting care in Calne

For over 30 years, we have been providing home care to thousands of people up and down the country to ensure that they can remain living as independently as possible in their own home. And that is no different at our new branch in Calne.

Designed to adapt to you and your needs, our tailored support plans are created with you so that you can let us know exactly what you need support with and how you like things, but also the things that you want to do by yourself – whether you need help with getting dressed but like to have a go at doing as much as you can or if you love cooking but are unsteady on your feet and need support getting all of the ingredients and utensils.

Visiting care can start from as little as 30 minutes a week and go all the way up to several hourly visits throughout the day, with the option of having overnight care if you become anxious during the early hours. Whether you’re living with Parkinson’s and need support taking medication and keeping your home clean and tidy or if you’re living with multiple sclerosis and need assistance with your mobility in and outside of your home, we’ll be there to help.

Calne live-in care for extra peace of mind

For added peace of mind that there is always someone there to support you, live-in care can provide the ultimate reassurance that your care needs will be tended to whenever you require. Living with you in your home, we’ll help you to select the right live-in carer for you that matches you in personality, interests and experience in your particular health needs, so that all of your care is catered for.

Live-in care is a direct alternative to residential care or a nursing home, as it allows you to receive 24-hour support but all from the comfort of your own home. There’s no need to leave a partner or spouse behind and there are no set timetables for meals, getting up in the morning or prescribed activities. Everything is centred around you and your preferences; so if you love your history and want to go for a regular visit to the Heritage Quarter but require support with your mobility, your carer will ensure that they accompany you there safely so you can soak up the culture and take a step back in time with an extra helping hand.

Keeping you independent with domiciliary care

Many of our customers start off their care journey with us with just a couple of hours of domiciliary care a week to help out with the vacuuming, changing the bedsheets, doing the laundry, collecting groceries and watering the plants, eventually moving on to support with preparing meals, getting in and out of bed and assistance with medication. The great thing about care from our Calne team is that can adapt to your changing needs; one week you may need help with shopping but the next you might need assistance to visit family or friends. We don’t prescribe a set list of activities that we can help with during the time that we see you – we can help you with whatever you need support with to enable you to live life on your terms.

Extra reassurance with dementia care

A diagnosis of dementia can often be quite a distressing time for the individual and their family. But with the expertise and knowledge of our dementia care carers, you can all rest assured that your loved one is in the very best and capable hands.

We ensure that all of our carers receive up-to-date dementia training so that they can provide personalised and empathetic care for your loved one and support for you and the rest of the family. Whether it’s help with the confusion and memory loss, helping to make the home more dementia-friendly or just popping in regularly to check that they’re okay, we’ll ensure that they have everything they need to stay safe and well at home with dementia.

Elderly care in Calne

Elderly care isn’t just about helping you with personal care and medication; it’s about focusing on you as an individual and supporting you with tasks at home that enable you to live independently. Whether it’s running errands, accompanying you to appointments, collecting your prescription or walking your four-legged friend, elderly care is designed with you in mind.

And it’s not just activities at home that we can support you with – if you want to go out for a coffee  or for a walk around Bowood House and Gardens, you carer will be with you every step of the way to ensure that your emotional wellbeing is taken care of too.

Take a break with respite care

Caring for a loved one is one of the best jobs you can ever do, but it doesn’t come without its challenges on both your physical and mental health. In order to give yourself a well-earned break, respite care can be the ideal solution for you to get a bit of time away whilst your loved one is carefully looked after by our team in Calne. We’ll ensure that we meet with you both beforehand so that we can seamlessly continue with your usual care routines while you recharge your batteries.

Respite care can also be appropriate for those who have just been discharged from hospital after an illness or operation, so that you have someone on had to support you until you’re feeling more like yourself again. We can usually have care in place on the same day as your enquiry to us, giving all peace of mind that you won’t be left without the vital support you need.

Fully trained carers from our Calne team

One thing that truly sets our carers apart is their innate ability to empathise and genuinely care for those that they are looking after. These qualities aren’t things that can be taught, but to ensure our carers are equipped with the skills that they need in Calne, they receive award winning training for manual handling, first aid, safeguarding, equality and diversity, medication and personal care. In addition to their initial training, they are also required to complete refresher training so that they always provide the latest and safest care to their customers.

All personal care services are provided by our Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered office Helping Hands Hungerford. The CQC ensure that we provide a safe, responsive and effective service and also do what we say we’re going to do. That way, you can rest assured that you or your loved one is receiving care from a regulated provider who has your best interests at heart.
