With our carers so local to you, we’re able to arrange care extremely quickly from your first contact with us, meaning that you can rest assured that help will be on its way. And unlike a care agency, our carers are employed directly by us, meaning there’s no need to worry about extra paperwork or background checks – we already have this covered.
Equipped in supporting individuals with a variety of conditions from dementia to neurological injuries, cerebral palsy and stoma care – our home care team are here to support you in whichever way you need.
The great thing about homecare is that you get to choose when and how you receive care, regardless of the complexities of your condition. So the only person in control of your care is the person who matters most – you.
Here at Helping Hands Accrington, we aim to provide bespoke support to those living in their own home, enabling them to retain their independence as much as possible in a way that suits them. Agency care is a great way to receive support little and often to provide assistance with a whole host of different tasks around the home. This could include help with the washing up, preparing meals, vacuuming, changing the beds and taking out the bins – keeping on top of domestic duties around your home if you’re unable to do so yourself or without some assistance. You may have a certain way you like things done, for example, a particular day you like to do your laundry or certain products you like to use to make your home smell fresh and clean. We’ll take all of this into account when creating your support plan, as we understand how important the finer details can be when planning a customer’s care.
Visiting agency care also covers assistance with personal care – getting washed and dressed in the morning or evening, help with getting in and out of bed, turning safely during the night and help with toileting needs. There are also other elements to personal care that are as equally important, such as maintaining your appearance if you like wearing make up or helping you with your daily shave. Our Accrington carers will also take you to the hairdressers if you struggle to get there by yourself, helping you to feel looked after and feeling fresh.
If you require more intensive support or you live with a partner or spouse and you both need extra help, live-in care could be the exact type of service that you’re looking for. Not only does it allow you to still live in your beloved home, but it caters for more complex clinical needs, for example, after a stroke, with PEG feeding or if you have a stoma or catheter fitted. With the guidance of our regional nurse team, our Accrington carers are able to provide specialist support so that you don’t have to move into a care home to receive nursing care. how much does it cost?
Our live-in care team will get to know you, your health care needs, preferences and how you want you care delivered, so that they can create a support plan entirely around you, including selecting a live-in carer that matches you both in care experience and personality. Your dedicated live-in carer will be there for 24-hour support, so you never have to worry that you’re alone or without the vital care you may need. They will be a constant source of reassurance, as well as someone you can get to know and build a rapport with, who may become more like a friend to you.
Private care gives you the freedom and choice over when and how much care you receive at home, so that it fits in with your life and existing routines. The aim of private care from our Accrington team is to provide support here and there that enables you, rather than taking over and doing everything for you. From assisting you to get to and from the shops to making you some lunch and putting your washing away, we’ll pop in at a time convenient to you to support you with everyday tasks, giving you and loved ones peace of mind that you have the right care in place for you.
To ensure that our carers have the right skills and knowledge when caring for our customers across Accrington, we provide in-depth training for all of our carers as soon as they join us and at regular intervals throughout their time with us. Modules include personal care, manual handling, medication, dementia, safeguarding and first aid, which are all delivered in our Accrington branch by our in-house experts. Overseen by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), our training programme is designed to ensure that only the highest quality care is provided to those with additional needs.
The CQC also regulate our service for responsiveness, efficacy and safety, enabling us to keep our standards as high as possible within the care industry. Knowing that we are closely monitored by the industry regulator for care gives both our customers and their families peace of mind that they are in the very best hands when it comes to their care.
