Covering Shirley and the surrounding areas such as Hasluck’s Green, Major’s Green, Dicken’s Heath, Earlswood and Blossomfield.
Shirley has a rich and varied history that can be dated back as far as the 1st century BC thanks to the discovery of an 11 acre Iron Age Hill Fort at Berry Mound in West Shirley.
While we cannot trace our history further back than 1989, the year of our inception, we still have over 30 years’ experience of caring for thousands of customers in their own homes. Helping Hands really are the homecare specialists, because we’ve been supporting people to remain as independent as possible for over 30 years. Whether you would like visiting or live-in care, we are the industry experts and can support you with every aspect of your care needs.
For over 30 years, we've been supporting people with care, nurse-supported care and companionship across England and Wales. As industry-leaders in home care, we know what it takes to provide the right level of care so that you can retain your independence in the comfort of your beloved home.

Fully flexible care packages as your needs change
Flexible care provided in your own home with a fully qualified carer. Visits start from as little as 30 minutes up to several hourly or overnight calls throughout the week.
One-to-one support from a fully qualified care that lives with you. Full-time support so you can stay at home where you feel most comfortable.
Visiting care means that one of our compassionate carers will come to you at home and deliver the care you need while you stay in the place you love best. Our carers can come to you from just 30 minutes a week so regardless of your condition we can support you. We can offer support with a range of household tasks such as vacuuming and laundry, plus more personal needs such as medication, mobility support and personal care, so whatever your needs you’ll be in great hands with Helping Hands.
When your needs are more complex, or you prefer to have someone in the house with you around the clock, you may like to consider live-in care. Having one of our carers reside in your home with you can be a great comfort to both you and your loved ones as it means you’ll never be alone at home, throughout the day and night. Our carers can support you with all your needs inside the house but also accompany you outdoors too, perhaps on a day out or to visit friends, or maybe even on holiday. You’ll still receive the great standards of care that you get with our visiting service so to have full-time support speak to our customer care team today.
Helping Hands has never been a care agency; we were set up in 1989 with the express aim of directly supporting our customers in their own homes and that’s an ethos we’ve never deviated from in more than 30 years. Traditional care agencies often charge you hidden fees and retainers for ‘matching’ you to your carer but we would never do that, as finding you your perfect carer is all part of the Helping Hands service.

We can all struggle with day-to-day tasks more as we age, so if you’re finding that things you used to do easily are becoming more of a struggle, talk to us about elderly care. You may appreciate some support with housework, laundry or going to appointments, or maybe it’s more personal care and getting out of bed. Whatever you need, we can help with so get in touch to learn more about elderly care today.
Our carers are at the very heart of our business and that’s why we look after them as well as we do. Without our carers’ constant support, many of our customers’ lives would be much harder, so we like to celebrate what they mean to us. This is why we train them so well and keep their knowledge updated through professional development opportunities, because we understand that the more they know about your condition, the better they can care for you. We are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales and we’re founder members of the UK Home Care Association, so it’s no surprise we’re considered one of the industry’s best home care providers.
