High quality Home Care in Bedfordshire

We carefully match you with a fully trained carer who will live with you in your home, supporting you with your day-to-day needs and even being on call overnight. Whether it’s helping with personal care, going to the toilet, help taking medication, housekeeping or moving round the house, many of our carers become a lifeline to our customers, enabling them to live the way they want every day.

If you have an acquired or progressive medical condition or have been recently injured and need support around the home, one of our nurse-led carers can give you the extra support you need. If your medical condition requires that you take medication in the middle of the night, one of our carers can be there to remind you to take it and help to administer it.

Most importantly, we carefully manage the entire process for you, from start to finish so you don’t have to!

24/7 live in care support

Whether you need full time live-in care, short term respite, convalescence or are planning for your long term care, or you simply require just a single call per day, we will be able to work around your needs. Carers can live with your loved one in their own home, or visit as frequently as you need, from 30 minutes through to longer “sit” sessions that may take most of the day or even help during the night.

Why we're better than a care agency

The idea of welcoming a new person into your home and life may seem a little daunting and unsettling at first. With a handpicked live-in carer, that’s matched perfectly to you, your life can stay much the same as before. We walk you through each step of the way and place up most importance on matching you with someone you feel the most comfortable with and who understands your routines, likes and interests.

Before beginning their work with us, all our carers take part in an intensive training programme at our Centre of Excellence where they develop a wide knowledge of personal through to complex condition-led care. But the training does not stop there. Every Helping Hands carer takes part in on-going training to boost their knowledge and experience across a wide range of areas, from dementia care to complex care requirements. All Helping Hands carers are DBS checked and trained to help you or your loved one remain independent in their home, whilst giving you the level of live-in care that you require.

FAQs

Since 1989, we been providing visiting care to thousands of people across the UK, so we know what it takes to care for others. From as little as 30-minute drop-ins to more in-depth calls throughout the day, we’ll work with you to find the best solution for you and make sure that you have everything you need through the day and night.

Offering everything from homecare, help with mobilising safely and gentle medication reminders to light house work, cooking and companionship – our team of local carers really do take the holistic approach to caring, so that you’re satisfied in both mind and spirit.

A one-size-fits-all approach isn’t how we operate; we’ll tailor everything entirely around you so that you’re happy and comfortable in your own home. And if your home care needs change or your symptoms progress, we can be flexible with your care package too.

As a private care provider, we believe we’re a much more appealing care option than a care agency. Unlike most care agencies, we only employ our carers directly as we believe it’s incredibly important to safeguard their wellbeing. We want our carers to be able to channel all of their energy and time into making sure you, the customer, are receiving the exceptional care that you deserve, rather than worrying about chasing pay slips. We also make sure that every aspect of our care is fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, so you can have absolute peace of mind about our commitment to very high standards of care each and every day.

Live-in care in Milton Keynes enables you to remain in the familiar and comfortable surroundings of your own home, whilst receiving the very best in home care from our expert live-in carers. Designed with you in mind, we’ll put your care needs at the fore and make sure you have a carer that is experienced in catering for your needs.

As one of the nation’s leading providers of private care, our carers have the necessary skills, knowledge and expertise to cater for a variety of different needs, and so much more. If it’s an extra pair of hands to help around the house because you’re unsteady on your feet, or someone to enjoy a coffee and cake with in Russell Park – we cover a whole multitude of different care needs for both your practical and emotional requirements.

With flexible arrangements, care that adheres to your requirements and above all, friendly carers – the Milton Keynes homecare team will enable you to be as independent as possible and live the life you want to lead.

A dementia diagnosis can be quite an unsettling time for both the individual and their family, but with specialised dementia care from our dedicated carers, we can make it just that little bit easier for all of you to digest.

As dementia care experts, we are aligned with Dementia Action Alliance (DAA) who are a national organisation that share best practice and take action on the condition. This allows us to be at the forefront of dementia care and ensure that those living with the condition in Milton Keynes are provided with the very latest and best care for their particular diagnosis.

Just because you’re reached your senior years, it doesn’t mean that you can’t continue to live the life that you want to lead, and with the friendly carers from Milton Keynes, they’ll make sure that you do just that.

Retaining your independence and choice is what elderly care is all about; we’ll learn exactly how you take your tea and what time you like to have your lunch so that you can keep to your existing routines without any compromise. So, if you like to stay at home and do jigsaw puzzles or prefer to get out and about in the local community, we’ll make sure we assist you to do this.

Caring for someone else can be very enjoyable and rewarding, but also take its toll on you physically and mentally. Respite care is a great way for you to take a well-earned rest, whilst your loved one still receives the care and attention they would expect from you. Before you take a break, we’ll meet with both of you to make sure we get it completely right, even down to what you like to talk about and what your favourite meal is.

Respite care is also suitable if you’ve recently been discharged from hospital after an illness or injury and need support to get you back on your feet. Instead of having to go to a residential setting, our team are able to look after you in your own home, which for many is a much more preferable option.

The need to take a holiday is so important; it allows you to relax, unwind and destress, and it is something that we should all be able to do regardless of care needs. If you want to take a break alone, with your family or with your carer, we can also accompany you to your chosen sunny spot so that you can all take a much-needed rest and enjoy your time together.

What sets our carers apart is their compassion, professionalism and their willingness to go the extra mile for their customers time and time again. It’s these qualities that have enabled us to be so successful over the last 30 years. With a finely-tuned selection process that includes Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) screenings and several references, we ensure that we only chose the very best carers to support our customers.

In addition to recruiting our carers with our in-house Recruitment Team, our carers are also trained by our team of expert trainers, who cover modules such as manual handling, health and safety, first aid and dementia. This in-depth and consistent approach ensures reliability, expertise and proficiency across our entire network of carers, so that they can continue to deliver care to the high standards that we set.

What’s more, we are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to make sure we adhere to the same national standards, which include responsiveness, effectiveness of our services and the safety of our care and colleagues.
