Days out with Sandy and Joanna

Sandy is one of our wonderful customers who is looked after by the Harlow branch. She turned to Helping Hands for support due to low moods and feeling isolated. Sandy has also been going through a difficult time as she received racial abuse from one of her neighbours.

In June, our Harlow care team arranged for Joanna to care for Sandy. Joanna has helped lift Sandy’s spirits by going above and beyond for her. Joanna contacted all the relevant people and helped Sandy document everything to resolve her issue with the neighbour.

Joanna and Sandy always look forward to spending time together. At the moment, Joanna visits Sandy once a week for one hour. They spend their time together wisely and make sure they do activities that make Sandy smile. This includes gardening, visiting garden centres, charity shops and going out for coffee.

Joanna has positively impacted Sandy’s well-being by providing companionship and support.
