Our Lutterworth branch’s Care and Training Practitioner Heather, and carer Rob, took two of their customers to a beautiful canal-side café in their local area for some much-needed time outdoors. Bert, who’s 97 years young, and Vince who’s living with dementia, live near each other but had never met, so when the opportunity arose, they were thrilled to get out and meet one another.
The Lutterworth team worked hard to plan the trip, making sure there was wheelchair access and appropriate transport to convey Bert and Vince safely. Thankfully, they were also blessed with some glorious weather and were able to enjoy a pleasant day out.
Everyone had a lovely time, and when Bert asked Vince if he would join him again for an outing in the future, Bert jumped at the chance. When Bert returned home to his wife, he told her about the wonderful time he had with his new friend Vince and was delighted to have made some lasting memories, thanks to the Lutterworth team!
