Costs and funding FAQs
Costs and funding: frequently asked questions
We’re here if you have any questions about the costs and funding of home care.
By choosing Helping Hands, you’re partnering with an experienced, family-focused care provider who will be able to advise you on all the care options available and the full cost of your care.
Being a private care provider means we employ all of our carers directly, so we’re able to offer a fully managed home care service where we’ll handle every aspect of your care and allow you to spend more time doing the things you enjoy.
Are there any hidden costs to your live in care?
No. Our pricing is completely transparent. After your initial care assessment we will present our proposal to you for consideration, this will include a detailed breakdown of the costs and services that we will provide.
Is there funding available to help pay for care?
Yes. Although most of our customers pay themselves, there may be funding options open to you.
All customers are entitled to Attendance Allowance provided by the government, which is non-means tested. Other non-means tested benefits are available from the NHS, such as Continuum of Care for customers in the later stages of life or those under the age of 65 with a diagnosis of illnesses, such as early onset dementia.
Do you accept direct payment top-ups?
No. Our carers are employed directly by us, meaning all salary and contract matters are looked after by us. This means that you can focus more on the relationship and the support you receive without any awkward conversations about money. Having directly employed carers also means we can arrange immediate, seamless cover should your regular carer require a break or be taken ill.
