Emergency Care Plans

What is an emergency care plan?

An emergency care plan is an urgent and expert response to your situation or condition.

Emergency care is when you have an urgent healthcare need.

We know emergencies can be scary and often overwhelming. With Helping Hands, we’re here to help it become more manageable and less daunting. With our emergency care plans, we endeavour to be at your door within 24 hours if needed. You might have had a sudden change in circumstances and are unsure where to turn, and you need top-quality help as soon as possible. Our carers can help. Panic, stress and fear are words we don’t use when it comes to emergencies; we prefer calm, organised and focused.

live in care

Whatever your emergency requires, we are fully equipped to provide it.

If you’ve had an accident recently and need some urgent help getting back on your feet, we can help with everything from mobility support, and meal preparation, to more complex medical needs. Our nurse-led care makes sure our carers are trained to deal with the trickier needs you may have. We can help with PEG feeding, stoma and catheter care, and medication administration. On top of this, they are exceptionally kind people who make wonderful companions and friends.

How do I create a care plan that works for me?

We offer live-in, visiting and respite care to help with your emergency care needs.

live in care
Visiting care
Visiting care begins from just 30 minutes a week and our carers can come to your home at various points of the day.
Prices start from £31.00 per hour for one-to-one personal home care. Costs are flexible for visits lasting 30, 45 or 60 minutes.
Prices depend on your location and specific care needs, with differences for overnight care and support provided during weekends and bank holidays.
Each care visit comes with a call-out fee of £4.50 per visit. This additional fee is to ensure your carer’s travel costs are covered.
live in care
Live-in care
Live-in care offers around-the-clock support for all your needs, including emergency related care.
A live-in carer can support you with a number of personal care routines, including bathing, managing catheters, changing clothes and self-care.
Live-in care can be cost effective for couples, allowing them to stay in the home and the community that they know and love.
From your very first day of care, your local care team will be alongside you every step of the way to provide assistance and help with any queries and concerns.

    How our carers can help

Take a look at some of the ways in which our carers can help out.

    Respite care at home

If you’re dealing with an emergency and need urgent care, we can offer respite care from as little as 30 minutes a week to up to 5 weeks. You may just need a temporary solution or a short-term carer to help you, whether that be visiting or live in care. If your current caregiver is unavailable and you desperately need some help, we endeavour to be at your door within 24 hours.

    End-of-life care

If you are dealing with a degenerative condition or are near the end of life, you may think that a nursing home is your only option. But with Helping Hands, we can offer end-of-life care so you can remain in the home you love and live out your final days in peace, dignity and comfort. We also offer palliative care that will adapt to your needs and changing condition, so you’re well looked after.

    Changing needs

If you’ve seen a rapid change or perhaps a decline in your overall health, you may need urgent care. Whether you’ve been receiving help on a part-time basis or not at all, we can step up your care with our live-in approach to emergency care. We will adapt to your changing needs and tailor our emergency care packages around you. It isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to care.

    Urgent rehabilitation

If you have perhaps had an accident or a spell in hospital, you may need a bit of help getting back on your feet. We can help with rehabilitation with our around-the-clock assistance. We offer help with medication, physiotherapy exercises, continence and nephrostomy care, and much more. Your recovery will be smoother and hassle-free with a helping hand from us.
