Bariatric Care Plans

What is a bariatric care plan?

Bariatric surgery is a medical term for surgical procedures used to manage obesity.

The NHS states that bariatric surgery, or weight loss surgery, is a treatment for people who are severely obese. Our bariatric care can help you recover from your surgery while you remain at home. We can support you with post-operative care such as keeping any wounds clean and infection-free, light exercise as is appropriate after your surgery, and close supervision of your general welfare. We will help adapt your diet to become more healthy and follow the instructions of a nutritionist or medical professional.

What does an effective bariatric care plan include?

Here is what can be included in your bariatric care plan:

    Nursing care

Our nursing care can provide clinical attention for your bariatric-specific needs. Trained by registered nurses, our carers can support you with oxygen therapy, medication administration and more.

    Mobility support

Our carers receive expert mobility training, so they can help you get in and out of bed and move safely around your home. We can also introduce physio to help progress your mobility levels.

    Companionship

Our carers are wonderful, friendly people who have a passion for helping others. We handpick our carers to match your personality and interests so you gain a trusted carer and companion in your home.

    Healthy eating

If you’re due for surgery, we can help with your liquid diet and ensure you eat the right food and portions after your operation. We can help prepare healthy and delicious meals for weight loss too.

    Personal care

We can help with discreet and personal care like washing, grooming, dressing and continence care. We help with your hygiene and appearance so that you can continue living life with dignity and comfort.

    Care at home

We bring health care to your doorstep, wherever you are. We have over 150 branches across the UK and endeavour to be accessible to everyone. This way, you can get the care you need while staying at home.

    Bariatric surgery care

We can help with your rehabilitation after surgery and tailor a post-operative diet so you maintain healthy weight loss that’s monitored closely. Please note we can also tailor a food plan if you are not due for surgery.

    Exercise

Your carer will help motivate you to exercise and get out and about as you begin a new regime and lifestyle. Alongside healthy eating, we can help change your life into a more healthy and positive one.
