Hospice care at home

What Is Hospice At Home?

Hospice at home is a care service that allows patients with serious or terminal illnesses to receive expert respite care in the comfortable, familiar surroundings of their own home. Hospice at home aims to provide the patient with the best possible quality of life through managing symptoms, offering pain relief and reducing stress levels. Essentially, you get all the expert, compassionate care you would expect to receive at a hospice, but without the stress and discomfort involved in having to leave your home.

What Services Are Available?

When it comes to hospice care, it’s important that your specific needs are at the heart of your care plan. A terminal illness can be very distressing for both you and your loved ones; circumstances are likely to change very quickly, and you want to be sure that you’ll always have someone on hand to provide hands-on assistance and personal care. A hospice at home carer will be able to provide you with expert care and advice, from helping with pain control to doing the housework.

At Helping Hands, we’ve been providing compassionate, meaningful support to our customers across England and Wales since 1989. In that time, we’ve gained significant experience and developed real expertise in providing a wide range of care services that you’d expect to receive at an end-of-life hospice, including:

Who Is Hospice At Home For?

Hospice at home is for anyone living with a serious or terminal illness who requires dedicated, expert care in order to manage their condition. Receiving hospice care at home, rather than uprooting and moving to a hospice, gives you more flexibility and control over your care plan and allows you to remain in your own home, surrounded by familiar views and furnishings. All Helping Hands carers are fully trained to assist people with a wide range of advanced illnesses, from types of dementia to cancer. We can provide flexible support for people with a variety of needs, no matter how straightforward or complex.

How To Arrange Hospice Care

If you’d like to arrange hospice care at home, either for yourself or a loved one, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our friendly customer support team – they’re available seven days a week and will always be happy to answer any queries you may have. Alternatively, you can contact us via our website and arrange a callback at your convenience.

Hospice Care Where You Need It From Helping Hands

We can’t always plan when we might need palliative care and end-of-life care. At Helping Hands, our care teams will go above and beyond to ensure you receive the level of support that you require without ever feeling isolated, giving you peace of mind that all of your care needs are being looked after. Our fully-trained, compassionate carers are able to provide you with the same expert assistance you would expect to receive in a hospice.

Whether you need continence care, help with bathing and dressing, medication support or help around the home, we’re fully committed to supporting your independence and giving you more time to spend doing the things you enjoy and seeing the people you love.
