What's included
This can include things like helping you to bathe, get dressed, toilet and continence care, and assisting you in matters of personal hygiene, such as shaving or applying makeup.
Household chores can include tasks like vacuuming, doing the laundry, cleaning, and other time-consuming activities which less mobile people may need assistance with.
Healthy, nutritious and tasty meals can play a key role in enjoying a better quality of life. You might ask your carer to cook a full meal for or just prepare a light bite for you to eat when you’re ready.
Our friendly carers are on hand to collect your shopping, pick up your prescriptions or take you to appointments.
If you are living with a medical condition, you may need gentle reminders so that you don’t forget to take medication or assistance to administer creams, tablets or lotions.
One of the responsibilities of a live-in carer will be to ensure you’re not left feeling isolated or unsupported. Companionship might mean sitting down for a cup of tea while you watch a quiz show together, or getting a bit more adventurous and heading out for a day trip somewhere.
One of the benefits of staying at home for care is that you’re not parted from your furry friends. Our carers can take your pets for walks and ensuring they’re properly fed.
You may need help accessing certain parts of your home, and support with strenuous activities like getting out of bed. A live-in carer will provide safe and effective mobility assistance.
If you have a more complex health condition where you need clinical interventions, you may require nurse-led care. A specially-trained carer will provide the right care for your needs.

Why choose Helping Hands?
We understand it’s a big decision
We’ve been caring for people at home for decades. We understand that the decision to have some extra help isn’t always an easy step to take. If you’re not sure what you need or how live-in care could work for you, call our friendly team for a chat.
We find only the best carers
We have a rigorous recruitment process so we only employ those special people with the right levels of patience, empathy, and compassion to care for you as we’d want our own families to be cared for. We provide ongoing training and support to our carers, so they can continue to deliver at their best. This includes support by a specialist nursing team.
