I wanted to work in care to help make a difference to other people’s lives, especially helping to promote their independence in and out of the home. I’ve been working in care for a year. I worked in a care home in South Africa, and I’ve also worked as a dispensing assistant at a pharmacy. My favourite thing about working in care is helping people, making a difference in people’s lives.

I got into the care sector after I took care of my mum and sister who both passed away from medical conditions. It gave me valuable experience and made me realise how much I love helping others. I’ve been working in care for 12 years. My favourite thing about working in care is making people feel appreciated.

I’m from Shrewsbury and have been working in the care sector for more than 25 years and have gained both professional and personal experiences as a carer. This makes me fully appreciate the importance of also supporting my customer’s family during what can be a difficult period. I feel privileged to have supported people with a variety of care needs during my career.

Caring for others is extremely rewarding and gives me a deep sense of fulfilment. I am keen to bring happiness and joy to my customers’ lives by providing them with quality support, care and companionship. As a carer I will always ensure that my customers are treated with respect and dignity. Before I became a carer I worked as a private English teacher.
