We originally approached heloibg hands on the recommendation of a friend and have used them on an hourly basis to assist and support family to care for two elderly family members. The visiting carers during the week are punctual, reliable, flexible, professional, caring and absolutely lovely. Tanya, Karen and Monika are amazing. In the past I was disappointed with live in care that was organised to cover holidays and have given up with that and now only use the hourly service which is excellent during the week between 9 to 5. Unfortunately, there do not seem to be many carers who work weekends or evenings.

Helping Hands (Chigwell branch) have been assisting my family for a few years now and they have made such a valuable difference to our lives and that of our loved one who needs the care. They have been kind and helpful, going above and beyond in many cases to ensure that our loved one is clean, comfortable, well fed and most importantly, can stay in her own home. Offering helpful tips and hints as well as being engaging, encouraging and generally very kind to our oved one. The level of service offered is vast and they work very hard. Even going out of their way to help with caring for the cats (our oved ones most treasured possession!)! The office is always very responsive, helpful and friendly and the carers we have had have all been incredibly hard working, friendly and caring. I cant thank them enough for the difference that they have made. Thank you all at Helping Hands Chigwell!

As a customer of Helping Hands I can honestly say that my experience has been second to none. From my initial assessment with Sarah, who was very reassuring about the help and support that could be provided and the time she took to note all of my complex needs and conditions. They have been very understanding and accommodating with my need for as few people as possible in and out of the house due to my extreme vulnerability during Covid and not being able to have the vaccine. All of my carers are fantastic, they have all exhibited care, patience, empathy and understanding and have respected my privacy whilst helping to maintain my dignity and as much independence that my medical conditions allow. I have also found all the office team to be very friendly when ringing up and helpful and flexible if I need to change my care calls or times due to other appointments. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Friendly and experienced carers with lots of empathy.

The carer assigned to care for my mother (Celina) is proving to be excellent. In a very short period of time she is really getting to know my mum and understand her needs. She had quickly formed a strong bond with my mum who now looks forward to her visits.

Helping hands have been extremely helpful with setting up the night care for my mother at such short notice. My mother is very happy with the care that she is receiving from them at night. So all good. Thank you.

I find the team to be very approachable and flexible when we need to make changes to care at the last minute. When there have been issues they are usually resolved quickly. I feel that the carers are very kind and genuinely want to help our aunt, which means a lot to me. People are willing to put themselves out to help. Thank you.

Spoke to a Lady called Christine who was sympathetic ,listened to my concerns and was reassuring that Helping Hands will be able to guide and advise me to achieve my father's care plan.

HH have made this period of change in mums life seem smooth and so much easier. It's a worry having an older parent but we don't feel on our own.Thank you.

all very helpful people and every query we have is always resolved - Betty (Mrs Savill) has grown to love her visit every Monday and it gives her a lift and a comfort to know that there is someone coming to help. It also helps us (her nephew) as it keeps us secure in the knowledge that there is someone there for her as we live a good hour and a half away.

Anna the lady who came round was very patient and empathetic with my parents answering all their questions and concerns.

Very professional service and listened to the criteria I was looking for

There are occasional small problems but these are promptly dealt with.. It would be helpful if I could communicate directly with the career if I have forgotten to tell the manager, or the messages haven't been passed from one career to another or I have not written a message (this is in relation to my mother).. I would like to see more continuity of career but realise it is not easy if the visits are not routine. I am very grateful for the support.
