Why choose our Cirencester respite care team?

Caring for a loved one is a meaningful task, but it is also hard work and can be physically and mentally draining. Care is often a full-time job and it is natural to feel responsible for your loved one. Often, caregivers focus all of their time and attention on the person they care for and neglect their own health and wellbeing. However, everyone needs time to themselves to relax, and all carers should take regular breaks from their caregiving duties to unwind and recharge. This is where our respite care services come in – we can provide temporary specialist care to ensure that your loved one is properly supported in your absence.

Cirencester respite support from Helping Hands

We pride ourselves on being one of the UK’s leading care providers and have over 30 years’ experience supporting people all across the UK with various health conditions. As a family-owned company, we understand that admitting that care is needed can be difficult. This is why we take the time to get to know you and your family and provide care as unique as you are.

All personal care services are provided by our Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered office Helping Hands Cheltenham & Gloucester, and every Helping Hands carer has to complete rigorous training and assessments before becoming fully-fledged carers..

Being regulated by the CQC demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest possible standards of care. What’s more, many of our carers go on to complete various additional training modules to further expand their skills and knowledge across a variety of areas, including dementia care and other complex health conditions. You can have full reassurance that our carers are ready to step in and provide the best level of care for your loved one, regardless of any health conditions they face.

When to choose respite care

Caring for someone is rewarding, but it can also be exhausting and mentally draining. Every carer should take some time for themselves every now and then to focus on their own health and wellbeing. It is important to remember that providing continuous care won’t benefit you or your loved one in the long run. Doing too much can lead to increased levels of stress, which will harm your caregiving abilities. Our respite care services are designed to relieve caregivers of their duties by providing quality temporary care. This could be for several days, a few weeks or more. You can use this time to go away on holiday, socialise with other family members and friends, or simply enjoy some time alone, all while knowing that your loved one’s needs are being met. You can then return to your loved one feeling refreshed and ready to face the demands of caregiving.

Respite care can also be arranged urgently – usually within a couple of hours – in an emergency situation. This means that you never have to worry about your loved one being without the support they need.

Respite care services tailored to you

We understand that every situation is different and we will tailor our respite care services to suit your needs and preferences. Our specialist respite carers will provide support within your loved one’s home to ensure that their routine is not disrupted.

We offer two types of respite home carevisiting care and live-in care. Visiting care is ideal if your loved one only requires support for a few hours a day. One of our dedicated carers can check in with your loved one once a week or several times a day, depending on their needs. Their carer can assist with a wide variety of tasks including household chores, cooking, administering medication and mobility support. Live-in care is more intensive and involves a professionally trained carer moving into your loved one’s home to provide full-time support and companionship. This is an excellent option for people with more complex health conditions requiring continuous care. Whatever level of care is required, our bespoke home care plans are completely customisable to ensure that your loved one receives the best possible care.
