Visiting care and home care in Lambeth
Well known as the home of the Archbishop of Canterbury, in the palace that bears the borough’s name, Lambeth is an area steeped in history. The area was first recorded in 1062 as ‘Lambehitha’ and in the Domesday Book as ‘Lanchei’, but by 1255 it was known as Lambeth. The historic names refer to a riverbank, quay, or harbour where lambs were shipped to and from, suggesting Lambeth’s importance as a place of trade.
Helping Hands have had a presence in nearby parts of London for decades so we thought we should explore Lambeth a bit more closely. We respect the history of the areas that we’re established in as we value our own, and although ours only began in 1989 we feel we have built up an expert knowledge of how best to care for people in their own homes. Our visiting and live-in care services are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and the Care Inspectorate Wales, so you and your loved ones can have absolute faith in our service.
