Paul came to help at my Mum’s 80th birthday. He was absolutely brilliant. He was attentive and caring - making sure that Mum was looked after and had everything she needed; lending his expertise getting her into and out of the taxi. He rolled up his sleeves and mucked in wherever he was needed; whether that was washing up, or making sure Mum and her friends had enough to eat and drink. He really was like one of the family, and made every effort to care for Mum. A real caring carer. He even contacted me several days before the booking to enquire as to how he should dress for the occasion. Extremely professional.

Helping hands cared for my grandad and he was very impressed with the overall service that was very polite and suited his every day needs.

Helping Hands have looked after my husband with respect and kindness all the carers are brilliant. We had a medical emergency yesterday and without Lisa we would have been lost she was calm and in control of the situation.

The lady was friendly, asked lots of questions. She told me about charges and lengths of visits that I could expect. She made an appointment which was at a time that was good for my mum and me, and has said she will send an email to confirm what we discussed.

Dad has dementia, he usually gets the same regular carer 3x wkly not lots of different ones, which is good. I scored branch mgmt team lower because I'd phoned to book an extra slot and it wasn't added to his rota - I only found out by chance when I phoned to confirm it (after they'd promised to get back to me but didn't). Could do better on that one, office systems need reviewing? Bookings must be recorded then followed up? The consequences could have been an issue. Finally, I've already recommended Helping Hands to a family needing temporary post operative help.

The lady on the phone was extremely professional & helped with my enquiry making it entirely easy to discuss a very complex situation. She understood that the "aggressive" label given to the client was actually the result of the persons environment & interactions with hospital staff, not his dementia. This to me demonstrates exceptional understanding & knowledge of the condition which gives me confidence. Her knowledge of CHC funding options was also outstanding.
