Cost of emergency care

How much does emergency care cost?

Emergency care is necessary when you or a loved one require care at home in a hurry, usually within 24 hours.

You might need emergency care because your regular carer has had to go home unexpectedly leaving you without care, or it could be that you’re cared for by family who have been taken ill themselves. Alternatively, you may need support after an accident, or perhaps you’ve been given a short-notice hospital discharge.
We can offer emergency care on either a visiting care or live-in care basis. Regardless of your circumstances, thanks to our experience supporting thousands of people in their own homes since 1989, Helping Hands really are the homecare experts and the ones to trust with yours or your loved one’s care.

Is emergency care cheaper than a care home?

Whilst not always cheaper than a care home, emergency care at home is an increasingly popular alternative to a care home. When you are in need of care with a fast turnaround, whether for yourself or a loved one, we will always do our best to keep our prices clear and easy to follow, meaning there won’t be any unpleasant surprises when your bill arrives.

Furthermore, we’re not a care agency, so you don’t have to worry about agency fees or retainers. We directly employ all our carers, meaning you pay us and we pay them; simple.

The cost of an urgent care visit

If you adore where you live and have no desire to leave then why should you, just because you require extra support at home? You may have been struggling with the natural results of ageing and perhaps you are finding everyday tasks more difficult than you used to, or maybe you have been diagnosed with an illness or you’re recovering from a fall.

We have a team of knowledgeable customer care advisors who will be able to offer advice and guidance on helping you decipher the complicated funding and benefits options that exist. We also have lots of information on our website regarding paying for your care, as well as FAQs about care funding and how to discover if you’re eligible.

Paying for emergency care

When it comes to costs, we keep things as simple and straightforward as we can.

Paying for your care shouldn’t be a complicated matter. Whilst the majority of our customers pay for their care privately, depending on your circumstances there may be an opportunity for you to access home care funding from either your Local Authority or Clinical Commissioning Group.

We are able to accept direct payments, so if you’re receiving funding through social services and have opted for direct payments, we’re able to accept top-ups. This means that we can support you whatever your circumstances and help you to live your best life possible in the place you love most.
