Home care Islington - tailored to your needs

We’re proud to have been providing industry-leading care at home for over 30 years, and as a family-run business we know exactly what is needed to ensure that you receive the support you need with no compromise to your independence.

You may be living alone and no longer as confident in going out for your morning paper, or perhaps you are usually cared for by your partner and you would like some time to be ‘partners’ instead of ‘patient and carer’. Whatever it is you need, the team will provide a personalised support package that is built by and around you, so you can continue to live on your own terms.

With experience in supporting people living with motor neurone disease, Alzheimer’s and mental health conditions, and with customers ranging from the age of 18 upwards, our dedicated Islington team have the knowledge and expertise to support you in whichever way is best for you.

Live-in care for round-the-clock support

Everybody has the right to remain safe and secure in their own home, and if the need arises where you need more intensive support, this doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice that. At helping Hands we provide a bespoke live-in care package where you receive personalised and unintrusive support in the place you know best.

Here at Helping Hands, your mental wellbeing is just as important as your physical wellbeing. As well as receiving the practical support that you need, we’ll provide a carer that is most suited to your personality. So whether you enjoy taking your canine companion for a walk around Finsbury Park, or you are an avid ‘Gunners’ supporter, you won’t just have a carer; you’ll gain a friend.

With all of our live-in carers completing a comprehensive training programme at our bespoke training centre in Warwickshire, we are fully equipped to support you with any of your care needs – whether it’s helping you get dressed and ready for the day or more complex support such as PEG feeding or catheter management. What’s more, you’ll have complete flexibility and control over your care. With no restrictions on visiting hours, no set meal times or menus and no daily schedules to abide by, you can continue to live each day on your terms.

Elderly care to retain your independence

Elderly care from Helping Hands is exactly what you need it to be. The great thing about Helping Hands is that we’re not just here to give you practical support; your emotional wellbeing is important to us too. So if you enjoy visiting the exhibitions at the V&A museum or simply like to have coffee and a cake on a Sunday afternoon, we’ll be right there with you.

Respite care for your short-term needs

You may be a full-time carer that looks after a loved one, or perhaps you are due to be discharged from hospital and would like some extra support in getting back up on your feet. With respite care you’re enabled to continue with the care you need, for as long as you need it.

Care needs can arise at any given time, and sometimes with such little notice that the possibility of finding an alternative seems unlikely. But not to worry, our dedicated team in Islington will work with you to provide a personalised respite care package that is built by and around you – often within as little as 24 hours’ notice.

What’s more, they all go through a refined recruitment process before proceeding to an exceptional training programme where they cover areas such as manual handling, safeguarding, dementia care, health & safety and much more. With only 2% of our applicants being accepted as Helping Hands carers, you can rest assured that you are only being supported by the best.
