I haven’t written my review, since my father died in October 2021, but I now feel I’m ready to speak about my experience with helping hands.
We sort of started off ok, from the start of 2019/2021. Things started to change when they changed there management. We began having their services with just mornings, then as my father’s condition worsened we started having them 3 times a day.
As my fathers mantel state was up and down it became difficult as his needs continuously changed, we were needing help from helping hands.
We used to telephone them on many occasions, as carers were not up to speed with the condition of dementia, and my fathers mental ability, he sometimes just didn’t understand why they were there. We were in contact with the manager, as things with the carers weren’t going well regarding the help with my fathers needs,I instead of trying to understand his situation they started to black list him, and in his final days they just cut us off and sent fewer carers to help him and us.
I found that company had no idea how to deal with people with dementia, and not only that he just didn’t understand the situation with covid,They canceled the weekend visits, knowing that we had no other help, and unfortunately my father died at a weekend with very little help from helping hands.
I could never recommend this company to anyone as I was truly let down. Thank you Helping Hands for all of your support “NOT”. plus after he had died and everything had gone into probate the managment at the time “Jade”, even called us to find out where there payment was. How LOW can you get. ?
You actually care! Take time to engage with dad. Excellent thank you, you are all amazing.

I have had previous experience with Helping Hands and found the their client service first rate their care in placing the right carer for their client is excellent, and they are easy to contact if there is a problem. I would and have recommended them highly to any one who is needing this service and help.
We are only just starting with your agency and as yet to agree on a carer and hoping it would be someone English

All very helpful and parent said they were all nice
I have already recommended this service to others. I feel staff are well chosen and clearly demonstrate a real desire to care and enjoyment of their jobs as well as fulfilling my needs effectively.
Having never been in this situation before I thought it would be a nightmare, however the lady I spoke to put me at my ease instantly, was helpful, polite and answered all my questions directly and honestly.
Samuel was professional, courteous and informative.
Welcoming and listening to needs and making my mother feel pampered and content
Sarah was perfect for our needs.
She was efficient friendly and explained well
On the whole carers are lovely just a few hiccups.
The assessor was extremely polite and she took time to explain to Eileen how and when help could be given without taking away any of Eileen’s independence. She explained the best way to start with any help. Unfortunately Eileen for the moment remains adamant she does not require support. As a family we are still working to convince her.
Answered my questions relating to cost, minimum stay, booking notice required etc. Friendly & polite. Thank you

My mum is getting on very well with her carer. I had to make some changes recently and that happened with no problems.
Staff are very caring and friendly – recently a member of staff recognised that my Dad was unwell – she alerted me and saved his life x
So helpful. Good ethos. Could not do more to fulfill the family’s requests and expectations.
The assessor was very clear and helpful and did not patronise my father like a lot of people do
No complaints, all very helpful.
