When should I choose respite care, and what can a carer help with?

Our carers can support you with every aspect of your needs including, mobility support, personal care, medication administration, meal preparation, housework and much more. Being cared for at home means that you stay in the place you love most; surrounded by precious memories, as well as all the memories and mementos of a life well-lived. This can be very beneficial for your mental and physical health as you get to be where you want to be, without the upheaval of moving.

Why you may need Kensington & Chelsea respite care

If you’re being discharged from hospital or you want to go on holiday with your family, you may require some extra support temporarily. Perhaps your regular carer is the one going away so you need someone to support you until they return. We’ll ensure that your routines are always followed, which guarantees your care is delivered exactly to your requirements. If your hospital discharge is unexpected or your regular carer has to rush back home for a family emergency, you need to be assured that your care will continue as normal.

The benefits of respite care at home

The benefits or remaining at home for your respite care – rather than having to uproot to a care home – can’t be overstated. You’ll be in familiar surroundings, comforted by having people and pets around you that mean so much. This doesn’t just benefit your physical health; your mental wellbeing will benefit too. This is because your home is so important to you, it’s where you’ve lived your life and where you’re surrounded by memories.
