Meet Courtney, our Branch Manager

Courtney James, Kensington & Chelsea Branch Manager

Courtney has been working in care for several years and has “an amazing team of compassionate carers who all share my passion and commitment to providing home care. I am very proud to be a part of a company who is passionate about the care they provide."

“Previously I was Deputy Care Manager for a care agency in London,” Courtney adds. “The time spent fulfilling this role and the experience I have gained means I now feel that I am ready to drive a branch forward in my own right. I am therefore both excited and determined to make the Kensington & Chelsea branch a success.”

Outside of care, Courtney states that one of her greatest achievements is her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management & Social Policy, and first joined Helping Hands because she wanted to make a difference in her community. She is excited to continue building her team of carers and helping the residents of Kensington & Chelsea.

Visiting home care built to suit you

Our team of compassionate carers are well-trained in all aspects of delivering outstanding care. Home care visits are designed to fit in around your lifestyle, routines and requirements, even if you only need one short visit a week.

Whether you’re looking at support for yourself or someone close to you, visiting care enables you to have the right care on terms in the place you feel most comfortable; your home. Our Kensington & Chelsea carers can help with all of the following and much more:

  • Medication management – ensuring you have the correct mediation at the right time and making sure you’re safe when swallowing.
  • Mobility support – helping with Zimmer frames and other mobility aids so you can get out and about
  • Personal care – assisting with bathing and dressing, as well as tending to oral care shaving, and other areas of personal hygiene

Round-the-clock support in your own home

As conditions deteriorate, you might find that you or a loved one needs a higher level of support. Live-in care covers all of the same areas as visiting care, only your carer will move into your home with you to assist you 24 hours a day.

This means that you can have the right level of care without having to go through the upheaval of moving into residential care or a hospice.

Our live-in carers are handpicked based their experience and according to your needs. From ensuring your safety at all times and using specialist equipment, to taking you out for the day in your local area our carers are here to help you to live in comfort and independently.

This particular carer has changed all our lives for the better. They care for our dad as if he was their own father. My brother and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted.

Dementia care in Kensington & Chelsea

Continuity and consistency are essential when supporting someone with dementia. Home care, with the support of our dedicated carers allows your loved one to have full support without being unsettled by moving into a care home.

We always look to ensure that your familiar routines are followed closely; if your loved one gets up at a specific time for example or has a favourite activity that they enjoy, our carers will be on hand to facilitate these.

Not only that, but they can also provide close companionship and emotional support when you need them the most.

Care for complex or progressive conditions

Specific, progressive conditions such as motor neurone or cerebral palsy affect people in different ways. As the conditions progress, you might find that you need a greater level of hands-on care.

Working alongside our network of clinical specialists, we can put together your own care plan, tailored to your requirements and what works best for you. Maintaining your independence and way of life is always of the utmost importance to our carers, and they’ll do everything they can to support you with your lifestyle.

From using hoists to tending to catheters and stomas, you be sure our carers will be on hand to make your life as comfortable as possible.

Respite care at the times you need extra support

When you’re looking after a loved one, it’s just as important to look after your own emotional and physical wellbeing.

Respite care is designed to allow you to have a break but still ensures the person you’re supporting has the same level of care you provide for them. Delivered on a short-term basis, respite care ensures you can recharge your batteries for a little while and come back feeling refreshed.

You might also have another commitment or a family emergency which needs your attention. With respite care, you can tend to any emergencies you need to without worrying that your loved one is left alone.

And our carers always follow the same high standards that you expect them to follow, maintaining a consistent support.

Our team of trained Kensington & Chelsea carers

Courtney’s team of dedicated carers all go through an extended training programme, regardless of their previous experience, to provide them with all the skills and knowledge they need to provide the most outstanding care they can.

By undertaking our endorsed training programme, our carers are prepared for any situation they might encounter during while out supporting their customers. Our training covers personal care, safe moving & handling, and medication, and is endorsed by the social care strategic body, Skills for Care.

Being regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) means that our carers work to the highest standard and follow the best industry practices. That, in turn, means you can be sure your loved one will have the highest standard of care at all times.
