In the heart of London lies Kensington & Chelsea, a popular home for many of Britain’s most famous faces. What was once the residence for Freddie Mercury, Dusty Springfield and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, it is now where you can find a dedicated team from the UK’s leading home care provider – Helping Hands.
“I’m the Regional Clinical Lead for London and Essex. I am proud to have 20 years’ experience in care and nursing and can’t imagine that there is anything else that I would want to do more. I am passionate about proactive care and health education and I have been lucky enough not only to look after, but also work alongside so many different people – I’ve heard so many amazing and often inspiring stories. Working for Helping Hands enables me and my colleagues to support people in their own home – the place where most people want to stay for as long as they can. It’s so important and extremely rewarding.”
For over 30 years, we've been supporting people with care, nurse-supported care and companionship across England and Wales. As industry-leaders in home care, we know what it takes to provide the right level of care so that you can retain your independence in the comfort of your beloved home.

Family-run and experts in home care since 1989
Fully flexible care packages as your needs change
Flexible care provided in your own home with a fully qualified carer. Visits start from as little as 30 minutes up to several hourly or overnight calls troughout the week.
One-to-one support from a fully qualified care that lives with you. Full-time support so you can stay at home where you feel most comfortable.
Helping Hands was founded by Mary Lee in 1989 as a way to enable families who needed a little extra support to remain safe and independent at home, and for the last 30 years this is exactly what we have been doing. As a family-run business, we understand the importance of retaining your independence as much as possible, regardless of your condition. This is why the team are here to provide the support you need, when you need it, with no compromise to your day-to-day routine.
You may be living alone and are finding it difficult to go about your household chores, or perhaps you are living with your partner and you’re no longer able to support them like you used to; regardless of your situation, we’re here to help.
Care needs can arise for a variety of reasons, at any given time and for people of all ages – which is why we work closely with you to establish your individual care needs and create a bespoke support package that gives you the support you need to live your life in the way you want to.
Whether you are looking for 30-minute drop-ins or more regular visits throughout the week, our Kensington & Chelsea team can cover any of the following care needs:
When the need arises for more intensive support, we understand that residential care isn’t always everybody’s preference. With live-in care from our Kensington & Chelsea team, we’ll work with you to provide a bespoke live-in care package so that you can receive the support you need to remain comfortable and independent in the place you know best.
We understand that the idea of somebody moving into your home can be unnerving, but the team are here to provide you with guidance and support to alleviate any worries you may have. With live-in care, not only will you receive compassionate, unintrusive and practical support, but we’ll ensure that your mental wellbeing is being looked after too.
Prior to joining our team, each of our carers complete a comprehensive training programme so that they have the knowledge and expertise to help you with whatever it is you need. What’s more, they all have the natural ability to provide compassionate and empathetic support – and they really do genuinely care. So, whether you like to take a walk around Kensington Gardens in the sunshine or fetch your groceries from Wholefoods, our carers will be by your side.

Built on a foundation of family values, we understand how important it is for you to feel free and independent in your own home. So, if you would like the freedom to choose the intensity and frequency of your care, domiciliary support from the team is the ideal solution for you.
You may need assistance in getting dressed and ready for the day, or perhaps you enjoy going for a walk along the River Thames. Whatever it is you need, we’re here to ensure that the right care and arrangements are put in place to enable you to live each day exactly how you’d like to.
With 850,000 people in the UK living with dementia, the demand for more support and advice has never been higher. And as the UK’s leading dementia specialists, we understand the importance of providing the right level of care and support to both the individual and their families to enable them to live well following a dementia diagnosis.
Although the time following a diagnosis can be unnerving, we understand the complexities behind the condition and are able to support you with the many varying symptoms and behaviours that can arise. With patience and understanding, we’ll help you and your loved ones through every step of your dementia journey.
Just because you’ve reached a certain age, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to change your entire lifestyle. If you’re finding your day-to-day tasks a little more difficult than you used to, elderly care from the team is a great way to maintain your usual routine, just with a little extra support.
As we grow older, loneliness can often become a bigger burden than most, which is why our Kensington & Chelsea team provide more than just practical care; we’ll give you friendship. So, if you enjoy supporting your team at Stamford Bridge, we’ll be right there with you in a blue and white scarf.
As one of the leading care providers in the UK, we know exactly what it takes to make a great carer – and our team is full of them! Fully-trained in a number of areas including manual handling, health & safety, dementia care, equality & diversity and many more, each of our carers are qualified, experienced and naturally wonderful people.
Throughout our fine-tuned recruitment process, each of our carers receive full background checks, including Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) screenings, and they are all directly employed by us – so you don’t need to worry about any paperwork.
We are incredibly proud to be the only home care provider to be endorsed as a Centre of Excellence by Skills for Care, and we are also fully licensed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
If you’d like to speak with us about how we are able to support you at home, please get in touch. We’re here to take your call seven days a week.
If you’d rather meet face-to-face, you’re welcome to pop into our branch on Spring Street, or we can come to you – whether it’s for a coffee on Kensington High Street or in your living room.
We understand that circumstances surrounding care can often be unpredictable. Your usual caregiver may need to tend to an emergency at short notice, or perhaps you are due to be discharged from hospital but you would like some support in getting back on your feet. Whatever the circumstance, the team can provide you with a personalised respite care package to ensure that you can continue with the care you need – often with as little as 24 hours’ notice.
Respite care is available for many occasions. Whether you’re taking a trip with your family and you’d like some extra support or you’d like to attend a concert at the Royal Albert Hall and don’t feel comfortable going alone – we’re here for you.

This month for our customer appreciation we have decided to gift our customers these lovely crossword puzzles. What better way to spend time in lockdown than sitting down with a cup of tea/coffee and complete these crosswords and the carers can join as well when they are visiting their customers. #BecauseWeCare #customerappreciation #homecare #carers #teamkensington #helpinghandshomecare ...
