My dad had a spell in hospital and on release he required care visits at home to manage a catheter. Helping Hands took over from the interim NHS appointed carers. He had 4 visits per day initially to manage the catheter but my dad is 90 and virtually blind so the care also extended to helping him around the house, with personal care and domestic chores and, most importantly, brought company and routine to his days. It took him a while to settle, he is a proud man, but before long he adjusted to the carers coming in and out and he soon found them to be vital for his day to day life. He was only with Helping Hands for around 6 months and has now moved into residential care but we could not have managed that transition without his care visits. The online portal has been brilliant allowing my sister and I to see how he is doing, and the contact from the carers and staff has been just right. He could be a difficult man to handle at times and everyone made sure to match him to the right carers and to keep as much continuity as possible (whilst obviously allowing for staff leave). I would highly recommend their services. I could only select Nottingham from the drop down list but would like to specifically thank the West Bridgford team. We'll miss you!

The care and support given to my Mum by Helping Hands Nottingham could not have been better. Noureen has been fantastic, organising care for Mum when we were in a sudden and unexpectedly tricky situation with her health and subsequent care needs. Noureen has listened, provided a guiding ear when things have been really tough and has immediately sorted the best solution to an evolving situation. The carers Mum has had visit so far have all been wonderful - kind, patient and gentle with Mum (87) and lovely company for her too. So a huge thank you to you all!

Noreen from the West Bridgford branch came to speak to my mother and father about care visits. Noreen was very polite and friendly and engaged with my parents in a very positive manner. They enjoyed her visit and Noreen is going to sort out a care package for my mother. We are very grateful to her for visiting.

I cannot fault the care my mother receives from the carers at the Nottingham branch nothing is ever to much trouble, my mum is happy so that makes me happy! A big thank you to Noureen and her team.

The carers my mum has are very professional, friendly and willing to do anything my mum asks. When she has been in hospital they always contact us to see how she is getting on. They are good company to my mum, always chatting away! Would definitely recommend to people enquiringly about home care.

Because they have been truly brilliant and helped me in a difficult situation to get care organised as quickly as possible for my mum who has dementia and is very confused about where she is as they are moving house. I couldn't have coped without the help

The phone was answered promptly and in a friendly way. I explained what I was looking for and was advised of costs then transferred to a local office where I was able to make an appointment for an assessment

My mother has received outstanding care and concern from her carers. They have always alerted the family if mum has concerned them health wise. Excellent communication with the team.

Over the last three months there have been no problems with the care other than the odd missing or late Client Visit Rota and this is easily overcome with a quick phone call. All carers have been extremely competent and the level of care for my father has been exemplary.

After trying to organise a respite break for my elderly mother I was unsuccessful until I spoke with a representative from Helping Hands. She was very helpful and very efficient and endeavoured to respond quickly to my request for support

They came in for 30 mins every day whilst I was away and they did what they said they would exactly and my mum was for happy with the ladies so I am and will use the service again without a shadow of doubt

Everything was explained in good detail . And offer a great service

Only 3 days in and it's been reassuring that someone has been there for dad first thing in the morning I was just disappointed that the carer was not introduced to dad before his first appearance on Monday morning so he knew exactly who he would be letting into his home As it turned out I went to meet Phil so I could familiarise him with dads bungalow and his needs

The lady was very helpful but it would have eased my mind to know the outcome.. as she told me that she hadn't been able to speak to the old mans relAtive so I know he was just left unaided !
