Somerset dementia support from Helping Hands
Since 1989, we’ve been providing person-centred home care in Somerset and to customers up and down the country. In that time, we’ve helped tens of thousands of people to continue living independently, comfortably and securely in their own homes, surrounded by loved ones, thanks to our exceptional carers. One of the areas of care in which we specialise is dementia support, which is something all of our carers receive training in. We can support people with many various types and stages of dementia, however straightforward or complex your needs. What’s more, every aspect of our dementia care is independently regulated and monitored by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), so you can partner with us with full peace of mind about the standard of support you’ll receive day in, day out.
Dementia care services tailored to you
At Helping Hands, we know how important it is to have a care service that is designed around your personal needs and wishes. Every person’s dementia journey is completely unique to them, and a one-size-fits-all approach simply doesn’t work for such a complex condition. That’s why your local care manager will always take the time to pay you an initial visit where they’ll make sure they fully understand your care needs and the way you like things to be done. From there, we’ll help design a support plan that is built around your personal circumstances and focuses on providing you with care that is specific to your condition. And, should your care requirements ever change, we’ll of course be able to recommend appropriate amendments to your support plan so that you’re always receiving the type and level of dementia care that allows you to continue living independently at home.
Qualified dementia carers in Somerset
Our dementia carers in Somerset truly are at the heart of everything that makes our care so popular with our customers. We’re very selective about who we recruit to our care teams – we only hire people who are naturally kind and compassionate, and who share our dedication to providing genuinely transformative and meaningful home care. All of our carers have undergone enhanced DBS checks before joining us, as we want to ensure they’ll be a perfect fit for you in your home, and must also pass our four-day assessment programme. When they start with us, every new carer enrols on our industry-leading carer training, which equips them to provide specialist dementia care for people with different variations of the condition, and carers will continue to participate in regular refresher courses so that their knowledge and skillset are kept up to date with the latest care industry standards and best practices.
