Visiting care and home care in Thamesmead
Thamesmead is an area of predominantly social housing, built in the 1960s, on an area that formerly housed part of the Royal Arsenal site. Extending over Plumstead and Erith Marshes, the site covers about 1000 acres. Built to ease the overcrowding of Victorian back-to-back houses, Thamesmead didn’t have residential living space on the ground floor in many cases, due to fear of flooding that had blighted the area previously. Elevated walkways ensured that should flooding be a problem, people could evacuate safely.
Such forward thinking is what we love at Helping Hands, and everything that we do is designed to keep you safe and comfortable in your own home too. However, our care services are also fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and the Care Inspectorate Wales, which ensures an even greater level of protection and safety.
