Our carers are amazing people, and we always look to take on those who have natural compassion at heart. We don’t expect our carers to be highly experienced though, as what’s more important is the desire to care for others naturally. Whatever experience they have though we build on it, equipping our carers with additional skills when they start with us and as an ongoing process. We also have our own training academy inhouse at Helping Hands which devises a bespoke learning experience for all of our employees.

When to consider assisted living

You may be living independently or looking to do so, or perhaps you’re wanting additional care at home to take the pressure off family members. Some of our assisted living customers don’t want to move into residential care and by receiving support in their precious home can avoid that. Simply put, if you would like help to live the way you want to at home and in your local community, our carers can provide physical and emotional support so that you get to live every day as you wish.

How much does assisted living cost?

Care at home might just cost less than you think. Comparing it to residential care is difficult like-for-like, because care at home offers so much more than residential care does. This includes having beloved family members around you, precious possessions, and adored pets. You may be particularly fond of your garden, which by staying at home for your care will always be available to you. You’ll be give a bespoke quote when we’ve talked to you about the care you require, however as a rough guide:

Visiting care starts at £31.00 per hour, plus an hourly charge to cover transport costs.

Live-in care begins at £1,675 per week for a single person, or £1,675 per week for a couple. This makes live-in care particularly good value if two people require care.
