Helping Hands Boost to Dementia Cafe’

Recognising the key role that Dementia care Café’s around the country play in supporting those with Dementia and Alzheimer’s, we decided to raise funds for our local café based in Alcester.

By holding a dress down day as well as a cake sale we were able to raise a total of £250.00, which was presented to café founder Carole Zumbanini by our Business Development Manager James Mackay.

On receiving the cheque Carol commented “ The café provides people that live with dementia in the Alcester area the opportunity to gather in a safe environment where they are able to share emotions, have a chat and generally relax with a cup of tea and a biscuit or two. Knowing that a company like Helping Hands Home Care is willing to take the time to raise money and offer their support, is fantastic.”

Unlike many Dementia Café’s around the country that open once or twice a month; Alcester opens its doors every Friday morning come rain or shine. Run by a group of like minded volunteers the café is becoming an established part of the Alcester community.
