Don’t stop me now! – Jane’s story

Jane has recently joined her local gym and has been attending a couple of times a week.

Jane had previously been looked after in a care home but changed to live-in care support with us in May 2022, where we assist with personal care, medication, meals and exploring the community.

Jane is an incredibly sociable person and likes to be out and about. This was something she missed when she was living in a care home. Her motivation to join the gym was to meet people and improve her physical strength, mobility, and mental health.

Since joining the gym, Jane’s progress has been amazing. She has loved seeing the improvements it has made to her life, both physically and mentally. Her favourite part of the gym is the recumbent bike which has been great for her mobility issues. Her use of a wheelchair is now minimal, and she has been exploring the community a lot more by attending various clubs, thanks to the support and encouragement of her carer.
