Kelly is presented with flowers

Thank you flowers: Kelly (centre) with her managers

At Helping Hands, our carers all have one thing in common – each of them cares for other people’s wellbeing, even if they’re not necessarily their customers.

Meet Kelly, who is one of our Warwickshire carers. One day, Kelly showed just how caring and passionate she is for a member of the public.

It was a seemingly normal day. Kelly was out in Warwickshire, carrying out her care duties. She suddenly came across a lady in a distressing situation – she was unable to leave her warden-controlled flat and was screaming from the window, desperately trying to attract attention.

Kelly didn’t hesitate. She quickly climbed in through the window and used all of her care experience to calm the lady down before alerting the warden to the situation. Once she made sure that the lady was calm and safely with the warden, Kelly carried on with the rest of her day.

It wasn’t until the lady’s daughter-in-law came into our reception that anyone knew about Kelly’s selflessness. She was presented with a card and not one, but two bunches of flowers, which she humbly accepted.

What care is all about

Words can’t describe how proud we are of Kelly. Not only is she an amazing carer but her eagerness to help others has us in awe. Here she is with her manager Claire (seen right) and her mother Sarah (left) and her well-deserved rewards.

The entire Helping Hands team would like to say a huge well done to Kelly – she is a true credit and a wonderful carer. Going above and beyond for another person is exactly what care is about.
