Karen Hoskins and the team would love to hear your feedback, as it will help them to continue improving their services for all of their customers. We really appreciate your feedback and hope to hear from you soon.
Helping hands are a excellent team to work for, Office staff help with all requests and situations to the best of their ability and support in all areas. I would recommend Helping Hands to anyone looking to wanting to become a carer
Exeter branch care. I have had visiting care for ĵust over 12 months now and find the management to be very obliging and helpful when i had a bit of an emergency by sending a couple of carers. The carers are always very nice and friendly and smart and see to my needs?.
I hadn't received care before but my MND had got worse so i needed help with washing myself and changing my clothes, i have domiciliary care for 4 mornings a week although it's the minimum amount of time i have it works out fine, i did have a toilet emergency on a day i don't have care so my son phoned Helping Hands who sent 2 carers out right away and sorted things, all the the carers are nice and friendly and see to my needs and do their jobs in a positive and professional manner, the branch office is always there to help when phoned, yes i would recommend Helping hands, i wouuld like to thank Klaudia and Teren for going the extra mile, i particularly would like Klaudia kowalska to receive the Kindness award, thanks JP.
The care is for my mum we had previous care and got took over by helping hands and was definitely a way better care all round it has given my dad and my family a better outlook on things as mum's now doin so much more than she used to do not stuck inside all the time she goes out on day trips which she really enjoys and gives us abit of a break which is nice and sometimes much needed if she can't go out she will do other things at home like get her nails painted or hair done stuff like that. If ever we have a problem or a question we only have to pick up the phone and they are more than happy to help and you don't feel awkward to ask anything very helpful and friendly if anyone was asking about care I would highly recommend helping hands 100% there a lovely bunch of people and mum and dad have came really close to some of them which is nice to see and they go above and beyond for my mum which is very much appreciated great carers and a really good management that helps run a great service and always there for us.
The lady that visited our parents home, was very efficient and empathetic, and passed on our details to her colleague, who then called us to help with our enquiries. The lady who called round was called Lottie, and we felt our parent would be in safe hands if we choose this company to manage care.
Our carer team has proved to be both reliable, personable, proficient, and pleasant., and empathetic to Gillian's needs. We are being well served both by the team and the office support staff.
The team are friendly and they always try to accommodate any changes.
All the girls I have had have been very pleasant and helpful. I now have a regular Carer for my husband two mornings a week, which is great, because, as he has Alzheimer's, he is unable to give instructions himself, and she is now familiar with the routine. All the girls have been on time, and are in communication with the local office, which is run very efficiently.
They listen when changes are needed. They mostly stick to the Rotas in a timely manner
Helpfull and understandable staff.
Because Helping Hands are very professional & do not discriminate. They go out of there way to help wherever possible.
Because they are always willing to listen and help me to maintain my progress and not feel useless.
The carers, in particular Amanda, are wonderful with mum and the office are very supportive if any amendments or help is required. Thank you
No complaints, you've been great!
Very helpful information. Lots of sensible questions.gave quote for price.
We have had excellent and caring help from the Helping Hands staff on every evel, and are very satisfied with the personal, empathetic, and consistent help we have received.
We have had helping hands now for 18 months firstly for my Dad who has sadly passed away last October but we kept Mandy on to come and help my Mum to help with the housework and just have a natter.. Mandy is fantastic we can't praise her enough she goes that extra mile and Mum loves her to bits and so did my Dad infact we all do.
Mums main carer, Tracey is first class and Mum is very very happy with your service. I need say no more.
I would recommend Helping Hands to friends and family but would make them aware of the cost.
I have nothing but praise for the carers who look after me. The system seems to work very well for me. I do have a lot of concern about the future as there is so much turnover of staff. I do not think enough thought is given to the amount of travelling involved in the carers' work. They are not paid for this time and they are not given paid breaks either, which makes me question the legality of their working conditions. Driving around the area where I live can be quite exhausting because of the traffic. They are often not given realistic timeframes to work within to get to their clients. These kinds of things must add a great deal of stress to their work. I'm not sure whether carers are allocated shifts which minimise their travel. Perhaps if this were taken into account, there might be less turnover of staff.
Carer anticipating my needs.
Very friendly, helpful and understanding.
Every one does their best
all the carers helping hands have provided for my mum have been excellent, I am happy to leave her in their hands for a few hours knowing she will be well looked after
The office staff and the care team in Heavitree that look after my mother are all incredibly flexible, adaptable and efficient. Their twice-daily visits embrace everything from a cup to tea a chat and include things like a bit of a tidy-up or preparation of a meal. Also, with a little, notice they'll also fit in to a quick trip to the hair dressers or supermarket or even cover a hospital appointment... Their performance in an emergency is also totally impressive. My mother has suffered couple of serious incidents and each time the HH team has responded brilliantly, staying with my mother until the paramedics arrived, contacting me immediately and staying in touch throughout... It is impossible to fault their care, or imagine better, be it for their regular daily care or the totally professional way they perform in a crisis. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending HH to anyone looking for care assistance for themselves or for a loved one... Martin Andrewartha. 27 July 2019.
Helpful and polite
Helpfull, informative and made my mum feel at ease.
Would worry whether it was affordable for them following recent price increases.
Very friendly and had lovely approach when talking to my mother
Lottie the Manager and Karen have always been very professional and organised the care effectively. If we have had issues with Rotas they have done their best to resolve the time slots. The Carers are friendly.
We are really pleased with the care Mum receives as most of the carers give her real attention and care. The reason I didn't score a perfect number was that occasionally some carers have been late or not quite thorough enough. However, all have been very polite and courteous which is wonderful.
High turnover of carers and no longer fully trained. The ladies chosen are very pleasant but recently had a very young girl who could not retain a lot of the routine I asked her to do...
Everything suits what I require at this stage of my illness.
Ellie had been extremely helpful today with very polite and clear advice and has arranged an assessment for my Aunt very quickly. She has made a difficult day more bearable
Very professional, understanding & compassionate under unique circumstances.
The young lady was very friendly and pleasant. She empathised and had experience as a hands on Carer. She listened and suggested solutions and made a provisional appointment should I want to go ahead.
My mum is so happy with her Carer, who is kind, gentle and firm. Thank you Amanda. However if there are slight problems, head office in Exeter are very approachable, again thank you.
The team in Exeter are excellent and helped my Dad so much last year and when my Dad passed away we decided to keep one carer on to help my Mum with the housework and just somebody to talk to to help with her loss and loneliness and the same carer comes every week and I can't praise her enough and it was the same carer that helped my Dad so much last year, she goes that extra mile what a fantatstic person she is. I've got to mention her name because she's a credit to Helping Hands and a very special caring person the wonderful Mandy Seaton. Many Many thanks
They have only just started seem lovely girls
LThe carers always treat me with courtesy and kindness." From my Mum!
All of the people I have had dealings with through helping hands have been most kind and courteous and made such a difference. I am very grateful to everyone and lead a happier life now. Thank you very much.
Comprehensive replies and way forward provided.
Friendly operator that was helpful and guided me through the next steps. Asking for care support isn't easy, so it was a relief to organise an assessment in that one phone call.
Fantastic service!
Just got on very well and had a lovely time
Because having the help helped relive the stress of caring from the rest of the family and they were well looked after by the carers
A very friendly and efficient approach when answering all my of questions over the phone.
Alex gave me lots of info in a clear and concise way. He answered all my questions. He rang back very quickly with an appointment and told me exactly about cost. All of which was very helpful.
Charlotte is very calm and friendly and was able to arrange respite very promptly for us
Very understanding, not pushy, nice manner.
Very pleased on the whole. One or two of the carers have not been so good as most.
Friendly professional and prompt response.
We had a few issues encouraging my mum to have all her personal hygiene done but to be fair that was due to my mum fibbing a little now they understand her better that issue was resolved quickly.that is why I scored a couple of 4 but all things considered I'm happy with her care.
Reliable and professional, no experience for myself but my mother
It's been a really positive first few days and everything has gone very smoothly, everyone's help is much appreciated!
The lady that visited our parents home, was very efficient and empathetic, and passed on our details to her colleague, who then called us to help with our enquiries. The lady who called round was called Lottie, and we felt our parent would be in safe hands if we choose this company to manage care.
The lady on the phone was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and really wanted to help, such a pleasure in today's world.
Angus v helpful and understanding of problem and Mum's needs. Unfortunately it proved impossible to proceed with hoped for plan because of staff shortages in the Exeter area
Very helpful and professional service
We have now had the services of Helping Hands for 9 months, and Gillian has been ;looked after by 5 carers, some of whom have moved on to a higher level. All have been consistently caring and very good at the practicalities of meeting Gillian's needs, and helping in many other practical ways. Without exception they have been a pleasure to have here and we have come to look on all of them as friends rather than just helpers. So the numerical assessments above are an accurate reflection of our experience so far, and long may it continue. So thank you Helping Hands life would be much more difficult without you!
My Mother was very comfortable and felt at ease with Shelly and also had fun and a giggle. Which is lovely to hear as being a Dementia patient, she can feel low at times.
