I started my journey in care when I was 16 when I started a Health and Social care course. I also worked in a residential care home. I loved working and caring for people and it became a deep passion. I have worked in many different settings in and around Harrogate and Knaresborough, working with the elderly, vulnerable adults and adults with disabilities. I have developed my career in care and become a registered manager and manager for over five years. I decided to join helping hands as a branch manager as I had heard amazing things about the company, Helping Hands is a family-owned business and put their customers first, ensuring the best possible service.

Our high-quality home care can be delivered as often or as little as you need it. Some of our customers have an hour or two a week to give family a break, while others have us several times a day or around the clock. Our local carers are dedicated to providing you with the help you need to maintain your independence. All our support is fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) to give you and your loved ones total peace of mind.
24/7 live in care support
Live-in care is a comprehensive service that sees one or more carers living in your home with you. This provides a continuity of care that cannot be beaten, while you and your loved ones have the reassurance that you’re never alone at home. If your home feels too large after the loss of a partner or you’re struggling without the companionship you always knew, then a live-in carer can help to provide company and practical support.

We’ve never been a care agency, and we’re proud of that. The reason we are so emphatic about it is that care agencies traditionally do not offer the same high standards of care that Helping Hands does. They do not employ their own carers directly, instead offering only an ‘introductory’ service that customers then have to manage themselves. They also tend to run franchises, which can have an effect on the consistency of care offered. We manage all our care ourselves, own and run all of our 155 ourselves and employ our carers directly.
