What are our care services in Penrith?

Whether you’re living with a complex medical condition – such as a type of dementia – that requires very specific care, or just need a bit of extra help around the home, Helping Hands are able to curate a care plan for you that will meet all your needs whilst being tailored to your personal preferences. We know that no two individuals have identical care needs, which is why we’ll always put you at the heart of your care plan. Whether you require a few weekly visits or a live-in carer for constant support, our brilliant carers will provide all the assistance you need to enjoy the best possible quality of life in the comfortable, familiar surroundings of the home you love.

Domiciliary care

Domiciliary care is also referred to as care at home, and is an increasingly popular alternative to residential care homes for people who require an increased level of care support. With domiciliary care from Helping Hands, you’ll receive exceptional one-to-one care in your own home and on your own terms. From personalised meal plans to setting your own bed time, you’ll be able to personalise aspects of your care plan to suit your daily routines and hobbies – something that residential care homes simply don’t cater for. Our carers will always ensure that your wellbeing is at the heart of your support, which is only natural given that you’ll be in your own home, surrounded by the people you love.

Leading care experts

At Helping Hands Penrith, we’re extremely proud of our exceptional team of carers. Every member of our care staff has been selectively recruited for their compassionate, enthusiastic approach to the care that they provide, and will also have undergone thorough background checks to ensure they meet the character requirements of a Helping Hands carer. We make sure all carers are enrolled on our award-winning training programme when they start with us, and they also participate in regular refresher courses to keep their knowledge topped up. Every aspect of our care provision is independently regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, so you can have absolute confidence that we’ll deliver fantastic care on a daily basis.

FAQs

Live-in care means a trained Helping Hands carer lives in your own Penrith home and supports you around the clock with daily tasks, personal care, medication and companionship. It is a one-to-one alternative to a care home that lets you stay in familiar surroundings.

It suits people in Penrith who need regular or 24-hour support but want to stay at home, including older people, couples who want to stay together, and people living with dementia, limited mobility or a long-term condition.

Your carer supports personal care, washing and dressing, medication, meal preparation, mobility, housekeeping, getting out and about, and companionship. Care is built around your routine rather than a fixed shift pattern.

Live-in care is charged weekly and depends on the level of support you need. Penrith live-in care starts from £1,675 per week for one person, or £2,125 per week for a couple. We give a clear written quote after a free care assessment, with no hidden fees.

For one person it is often comparable, and for couples it is frequently better value because two people are supported for close to the cost of one. We will talk you through the figures for your situation in Penrith.

Yes. Our Penrith live-in care is regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and every carer is trained, vetted and DBS-checked before they start.

Once we have completed your free assessment we can usually arrange care quickly, including urgent and emergency situations. Call our Penrith team to talk through timings.
