Helping Hands have been supporting people to remain in the home they love while receiving home care for over 30 years, so why not discover if we could be doing the same for you or your loved ones? Our amazing carers will be able to support you with every aspect of your daily life and thanks to us being fully regulated by the CQC and CIW, you really can have confidence in us to help you live your very best life in your own home, while receiving the care you need.
We can support you in and around Stanmore, Edgeware, Elstree, Borehamwood, Northwood, Moor Park, Bushey, Burnt Oak, Pinner Green and the surrounding areas.
Stanmore is perhaps best remembered as the home of RAF Bentley Priory station, the base of the legendary Fighter Command during the Second World War, whose heroic actions by ‘the few’ held off the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain.
While our carers are not quite of legendary status, we do consider them heroes for the way they go above and beyond to support their customers every single day of the year, making sure through our visiting and live-in care services that they get to live their best lives possible in the home they love.
“I’m the Regional Clinical Lead for London and Essex. I am proud to have 20 years’ experience in care and nursing and can’t imagine that there is anything else that I would want to do more. I am passionate about proactive care and health education and I have been lucky enough not only to look after, but also work alongside so many different people – I’ve heard so many amazing and often inspiring stories. Working for Helping Hands enables me and my colleagues to support people in their own home – the place where most people want to stay for as long as they can. It’s so important and extremely rewarding.”

Some home care agencies are not regulated by the CQC and CIW which means you will have little opportunity to raise complaints if things aren’t done as they were promised. With Helping Hands however, we’re a private home care company who has been since our formation in 1989, so we know care, and because we’re fully regulated by the CQC and CIW our high standards are never in question when it comes to supporting our customers at home.
You’re always in control with domiciliary care, thanks to your personalised support plan which will detail your routines and preferences exactly. Whether you require visiting care, where carers can come to you from as little as 30 minutes per week or for as many visits throughout the day as you need, or live-in care, which as it suggests, sees one of our fantastic carers living in your home with you around the clock, we’ll always support you expertly.
As your dementia progresses, you need to know that you’ll be able to remain in the home you love, surrounded by the people, things and memories that mean the world to you. Staying in a place that you have a real connection to can be highly beneficial, as it may help to reduce confusion and anxiety at times. Our amazing carers will support you to create, preserve and reflect on memories meaning that even as your condition develops, you’ll get the best dementia care possible at home.
If you need some extra support at home due to your family going on holiday, your regular carer needing to take time off or you being discharged from hospital unexpectedly, respite care from Helping Hands can be the useful short-term solution. Our compassionate carers will come to you at home and either visit you as often as you need to carry out all of your care needs, or live-in your home with you providing around the clock care and companionship. We can even get care to you within 24 hours when necessary.
If you’d like a little extra support at home, due to an existing condition, age-related frailties or general fatigue, we can help. You might find that general daily tasks have become more difficult as you’ve got older and that’s where our carers are invaluable. They can deliver elderly care in your home from just 30 minutes a week to ensure you’re eating well and that everything is being done to your standards.
Thanks to our amazing carers, we get to support thousands of customers all across England and Wales with their essential care needs. We don’t just let anyone be a Helping Hands carer though, we carefully select people who share the same ethos as we have for providing the highest quality, person-centred care in our customers’ own homes. We also train our carers thoroughly when they join us to ensure that they have all the skills necessary to support our customers at home and we ensure that there are opportunities for them to update their skills when they are able. We’re also fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, so you can understand why we’re considered the home care specialists.
