Just a long ball away from Wembley Stadium, our Harrow carers are determined to substitute your inhibitions for inspiration. Starting with an evaluative initial assessment, our team proceed by matching you with the carer best suited to your personality & interests, in order to provide a solution that assists you in retaining possession of your independence.
“I’m the Regional Clinical Lead for London and Essex. I am proud to have 20 years’ experience in care and nursing and can’t imagine that there is anything else that I would want to do more. I am passionate about proactive care and health education and I have been lucky enough not only to look after, but also work alongside so many different people – I’ve heard so many amazing and often inspiring stories. Working for Helping Hands enables me and my colleagues to support people in their own home – the place where most people want to stay for as long as they can. It’s so important and extremely rewarding.”
For over 30 years, we've been supporting people with care, nurse-supported care and companionship across England and Wales. As industry-leaders in home care, we know what it takes to provide the right level of care so that you can retain your independence in the comfort of your beloved home.

Fully flexible care packages as your needs change
Flexible care provided in your own home with a fully qualified carer. Visits start from as little as 30 minutes up to several hourly or overnight calls throughout the week.
One-to-one support from a fully qualified care that lives with you. Full-time support so you can stay at home where you feel most comfortable.
As an industry leader providing over 30 years’ experience in home care, we know exactly what it takes to provide high-quality home care. What’s more, we understand how important it is to feel safe, comfortable and enabled in your own home. That’s why the Harrow team build packages of care entirely around you.
With experience in supporting people living with dementia, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s, arthritis and many more conditions, we have the expertise and knowledge to provide person-centred care that takes heed of every single one of your care requirements. Even if it’s assistance in getting to and from medical appointments or help with dressing every day, we can arrange care calls for anything from 30-minute sessions to several daily visits.
For those that require more intensive support at home, a live-in carer is the ideal way to retain independence without having to compromise on living in familiar surroundings. As the name suggests, a live-in carer lives with you in your home, providing round-the-clock assistance as and when you need it.
So, if it’s assistance with administering medication throughout the day and night or if you need support with being hoisted in and out of bed, a live-in carer will be there when you need them. The great thing about having both a visiting and live-in care service is that our carers can work together to ensure your needs are met regardless of your condition. This can often mean that with tasks such as hoisting that requires two people, you can still be cared for at home without the need of going into a residential setting.
As well as moving and handling, the team of carers are fully trained to help with:

As a viable alternative to residential care, domiciliary care allows you to be in control of your care without any restrictions. You may be recovering from a stroke and need support with getting in and out of bed, or you might just need help to keep your house clean and tidy; whatever we can help with, we will.
And with carers local to you in the borough of Harrow, we’ll even help you get out and about in the local community – whether that’s popping down to the local garden centre or spending the afternoon at St George’s Shopping Centre.
Whether you or a loved one are living with Alzheimer’s, Pick’s disease or early-onset dementia, our team of experts in Harrow are trained to support and care for those living with any one of the many different types of dementia.
As a specialist in dementia care, we understand how important it is to keep to a routine when caring for someone with dementia. That’s why we’ll support both you and your family to understand the condition and ensure that you’re cared for in a way that is unique to you.
Getting older can bring its challenges, but it doesn’t mean you have to forego your home comforts to move to a nursing home if you’re finding things more difficult. The team can come to you and help with whatever you need – whether that’s taking your canine companion for a walk or helping you to vacuum and wash the dishes.
And if you’re living with a condition means your health deteriorates or you need to go to hospital, we can increase the regularity of your care and be there with you every step of the way.
Our carers really do go above and beyond for all of our customers, regardless of their condition or additional needs. It’s no coincidence that we’ve stood out as one of the UK’s best home care providers since 1989, which is mainly down to our fantastic carers.
With thorough background checks in place and only 2% of our applicants making the cut as a Helping Hands carer, we only employ the very best. What’s more, we employ all of our carers directly, taking the stress out of any additional paperwork that comes with carers that work for external agencies.
Each and every one of our carers go through a vigorous training programme including manual handling, dementia care, first aid, safeguarding and medication administration. However, one thing that we can’t teach them is how to be kind and compassionate; this natural quality is above all what we look for when employing our carers and we don’t settle for anything less.
Caring for someone is one of the most rewarding jobs there is – we know, we’re experts! However, it can be quite tiring to do, particularly if you’re caring for a loved one. It’s vital that you take a break every now and then, and the team can provide the ideal solution so that you can get a bit of respite. They will meet with both you and your loved one to make sure everything is in place before they step in.
Respite care can also be beneficial if you want to take a family holiday that allows you all to have a real break, with one of our carers to accompany you for your entire stay. We can also be there for you if you’ve just been discharged from hospital and need extra support while you get back on your feet.
If you’d like to discuss visiting or live-in care options, you can set up a meeting with the team by calling us. We’re here to take your call seven days a week.
You can also pop into our Harrow branch on College Road, Monday to Friday anytime between 8:30am to 5:30pm. Or if getting to us is a bit difficult, we can come to you! Let us know the best place to meet you and we’ll be there. We can even pop in to see you in your own home if that’s easier.
