Respite care in Westbury

At Helping Hands Bath & Keynsham, my main role is to ensure that we provide a high quality of care and a safe service. I make sure that the branches run smoothly day-to-day ensuring that both customer and carers are happy and have the best positive outcomes. Providing person-centred care and support.

I joined helping hands in Oct 2021 but have worked in care for over fifteen years, starting as a carer for a domiciliary provider in Bristol. I then joined a children's charity in Bristol who provided short breaks for disabled children ages 8-18 within a residential setting, after ten years I was ready for my next challenge. I joined Helping Hands as a Care & Training
Practitioner, then Care Coordinator and now Branch Manager. I have always wanted to work in care since I was in school. I am very proud of my team who are hard working, caring, diverse and inspirational.

A bit about me - I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends, enjoying pub quizzes, movies and eating out. I have two children who I am very proud of and two cats. My perfect day would be sat beside an open fire with my family and friends.

Hello, I'm Deborah your Area Care Manager for the South West region of Helping Hands. I have worked in care for over 10 years and feel privileged to be able to keep people at home. I am passionate about my job and think quality home care is essential. I have lived and worked in Gloucestershire for 14 years so have great local knowledge. In my free time I enjoy walks in the Cotswolds with my Springer Spaniel Woody and going on lovely holidays with my family and friends.

My main roles and responsibilties as Area Care Manager are to oversee and improve the running of the branches within the South West. I am responsible for ensuring that our clients and carers are kept safe, and that the service we are providing is of high quality.
I have always had a passion in caring for others. The term 'caring' for me has never been about rushing in and helping someone to get washed and dressed. For me it's about making a positive impact to someone else' s life; helping them achieve what they want, and enabling them to remain independent at home in the place that means the most to them.
The care we provide at Helping Hands is of such high quality, and I truly believe that if my parents required care, Helping Hands would be the first I would contact. The carers always go over and above to ensure the clients are happy, and as an area care manager that's certainly one thing I can say I am proud of. It' s clear that all of us at Helping Hands live, sleep and breath the culture and we love what we do.

Hi, I'm Adam and as Divisional Director, I'm responsible for making sure that all the customers we help are looked after brilliantly. In order to do this, we need to have the very best carers and support teams there for them so that they can thrive within Helping Hands and do what they do best: care. I think we do everything possible to really understand our customers' needs and then do everything possible to find the right carer for them. Our carers do a wonderful job, and they are special people who are 'hardwired' to care.
