Industry leading carer training

“Whilst taking a year off from my studies and during my holidays, Helping Hands live-in care work is a very flexible option that enables me to earn money and save up for my Masters,” Rachel explains. “Helping Hands has an excellent reputation, so a Live-in Carer role within their company really appealed to me.”

Rachel’s sister recommended the role, knowing that it would suit her lifestyle, caring nature and aspirations. Many students join Helping Hands with varied professional experience and goals for the future. Many find that Live-in Care work prepares them for their future positions, providing excellent opportunity for professional development and skill acquisition.

Rachel says, “I am keen to make a positive contribution to someone’s life. Having previously worked with vulnerable young people in a voluntary capacity, I am excited to apply the skills I have learnt in my Live-in Carer role.”

Following a straightforward interview process, Rachel began a week’s training period at Helping Hands’ Centre of Excellence, based in the market town of Alcester. A picturesque town steeped in history, Alcester was an idyllic base for Rachel to spend a week with like-minded individuals from all over the world whilst learning from training experts.

Commenting on the week, Rachel says, “Helping Hands provided a really great course. All members of the Training Team were just so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The course had a great practical focus, providing many opportunities to be hands on and get involved. It was fun yet professional.”

During Rachel’s training week, the recruitment team managed all of her paperwork to prepare her for work straight away. Rachel was selected for a placement immediately and has been caring for an elderly gentleman with ongoing support from her care management team and home care specialists.

Recommending Live-in Care work to other students seeking flexible work during their studies, Rachel says, “The team at Helping Hands got me into my first placement as soon as I completed the training, so the whole experience has been really good.”
